Ahammed Khabeer on Madhuram: Just as the name suggests, it was a sweet movie that gave us hope during the tough time
Ahammed Khabeer's 'Madhuram,' released during the pandemic, continues to resonate with audiences for its heartfelt depiction of love and companionship found in unexpected places. The director expresses joy over the film's enduring popularity, attributing its success to the cast's exceptional performances and the story's ability to capture raw emotions and the simple joys of life, like love and food. Madhuram is getting sweeter day by day. Feel-good movies hold a special place in the hearts of Malayalam cinema lovers, and Ahammed Khabeer 's film secured its spot on that list years ago. Despite being released exclusively on OTT during the pandemic, the movie remains widely celebrated on social media for its heartfelt portrayal of true, selfless love. In a candid conversation with ETimes, director Ahammed Khabeer opens up about the ongoing praise the film continues to receive. 'It feels wonderful to wake up to tags and comments about Madhuram. I'm happy that people still talk about it, write about it, and even create statuses from it. Truly, Madhuram is getting sweeter day by day,' the director shared. Madhuram tells the story of two bystanders in a government hospital whose lives take an unexpected turn toward love and companionship. Along with the heartfelt romance, the film's vivid portrayal of food remains a memorable and fresh experience for fans even today. 'True to its name, it's a small, sweet movie. The idea came to me during the pandemic when everything was at a standstill. I had witnessed similar lives while accompanying my father to the hospital. For me, the film was a beacon of hope during a frustrating time, especially after the success of June. Through this story, I wanted to capture the raw emotions of love, whether it's love for a fellow human or for food. I was careful not to cross the line into 'cringe,' and thankfully, everything fell into place perfectly,' he shared. Alongside its soothing storyline, the heartfelt performances by the entire cast deserve special mention. Even without a single on-screen appearance of his wife, Indrans, who plays Ravi, beautifully conveys their deep love for each other, leaving a lasting emotional impact on every Madhuram fan. Whether it's Sabu, Chithra, Kevin, or Cherry, each character holds a unique and cherished place in the hearts of viewers. 'All credit goes to the actors; they gave me a thousand times more than I ever asked for. I was truly fortunate to have the best. If the movie continues to receive appreciation, it's entirely because of their incredible performances,' he concluded.

'Pariwar 'OTT release: When and where to watch Jagadish and Indrans starrer family drama
(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) After a quiet run in theaters, 'Pariwar,' the Malayalam family drama starring Jagadish and Indrans, is now streaming on OTT. The film, directed by Ulsav Rajeev and Fahad Nandu, takes a closer look at how familial love and selfishness can sometimes walk hand in hand—especially when emotions are high and inheritance is at stake. A family divided by priorities The story revolves around three brothers who must care for their ailing father. But as the days pass, hidden motives start surfacing. One wants an antique gold ring. Another is genuinely concerned about their father's health. The third is too caught up in his wife's whims to notice anything else. Pariwar unfolds in this tension, showing how relationships that appear strong on the outside can quietly fall apart within. Jagadish and Indrans deliver with subtle power Jagadish, playing the self-serving middle son, brings in a dry humor and familiarity to a character we've all seen—the sibling who thinks more about what he might gain than what he might lose. Indrans' character is quietly powerful. As Bheeman, the eldest brother, he shows us what it means to genuinely care, even when no one else does. Mohanlal Confirms Drishyam 3 Release |Georgekutty Is Back ETimes verdict Want to watch 'Pariwar'? Well, here's our official review, which reads, "One of Pariwar's biggest strengths is its cast—actors who slip into their roles without any star-driven distractions. The film's appeal lies in its everyday characters rather than grand spectacle, much like Narayaneente Moonnaam Makkal. With Alpha Jahangir's crisp cinematography, Bijibal's evocative music, and Santhosh Varma's thoughtful lyrics, the film's technical aspects subtly enhance the storytelling. Pariwar is a simple, entertaining watch—ideal for those who enjoy family dramas that blend humor with an honest look at human nature. It may not rewrite the rules of cinema, but it proves that a well-told story doesn't need crime or chaos to hold its audience." The movie has started streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
