Minister of Industry and Commerce Visits Al-Taawon Foodstuff Factory in Salman Industrial City

Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, visited Al-Taawon Foodstuff Factory in Salman Industrial City as part of efforts to support national industrial projects and boost production and exports. dfsdf dfsd gsdfg sdgdfg He reviewed the factory's operations, which plays a key role in food manufacturing and packaging. The Minister praised the factory's contribution to food security and its support of Bahraini exports, particularly to Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries. He noted that the visit aligns with the Industrial Sector Strategy (2022–2026), which aims to support local industry and attract investment, helping grow the national economy. The factory opened in 2023 and covers about 11,961 square meters.

Arab trade opportunities open for Bahraini manufacturers via new industrial platform
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has urged Bahraini manufacturers to register on the Arab Industrial and Mining Products Requests and Offers Platform ( an initiative launched by the Arab Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining Organization. The platform is designed to connect Arab manufacturers with business opportunities across the region, aiming to boost economic integration and increase trade volumes. Dr. Khalid Fahad Al-Alawi, Assistant Undersecretary for Industrial Development at the Ministry, described the platform as a valuable opportunity for Bahraini manufacturers to showcase their products at the Arab level and gain insights into the needs of regional markets in the industrial and mining sectors. He noted that this initiative aligns with the Industrial Sector Strategy (2022–2026), which focuses on supporting national exports and enabling Bahraini manufacturers to expand their reach and compete for regional purchasing contracts. Dr. Al-Alawi affirmed the Ministry's commitment to fostering regional cooperation and deeper integration among Arab industrial sectors. He also praised Bahrain's manufacturing sector, highlighting its advanced capabilities and expertise that position it to compete both regionally and globally.

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has called on Bahraini manufacturers to register on the Arab Platform for Industrial and Mining Products Requests and Offers ( which was launched by the Arab Organisation for Industrial Development, Standardisation and Mining. The platform aims to link Arab manufacturers with opportunities in Arab markets, helping to boost economic integration and trade, while supporting industrial and mining cooperation among Arab countries. Dr. Khaled Fahad Al Alawi, Assistant Undersecretary for Industrial Development at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, emphasised that this platform represents an exceptional opportunity for Bahraini manufacturers to showcase their products at the Arab level and to become familiar with the needs of regional markets in the industrial and mining sectors. This enables them to take advantage of available opportunities and strengthen their presence in Arab markets. Al Alawi noted that this step aligns with the Industrial Sector Strategy (2022–2026), which focuses on supporting nationally originated exports and opening doors for Bahraini manufacturers to expand regionally and compete in procurement agreements. He added that through this platform, the Ministry seeks to continue promoting regional cooperation and achieving integration among Arab industrial sectors, praising Bahrain's manufacturing capabilities, which possess the potential and expertise to compete both regionally and internationally. The Arab Platform for Industrial and Mining Products Requests and Offers currently includes data on more than 60,000 industrial and mining establishments and over 900 investment opportunities from 21 Arab countries, providing a comprehensive database of industrial and mining products and needs across the region. Industry Ministry and Hope Ventures sign strategic partnership
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), witnessed the signing of the letter of intent for a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Hope Ventures to establish a makerspace and an industrial innovation centre in Salman Industrial City, Al Hidd. The letter was signed by Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hope Ventures; and Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce. Aymen bin Tawfeeq Almoayed, SCYS Secretary General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hope Fund, was present. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad emphasised that the Kingdom of Bahrain remains committed to advancing initiatives that empower and support youth across diverse sectors. He highlighted that the project will support ambition among young people, encouraging creativity and innovation. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad further commended the project for establishing an integrated and supportive ecosystem for youth development. He underscored the role of the youth, highlighting their determination and perseverance as essential to building a more advanced and prosperous future for the Kingdom. This project is part of the Industrial Sector Strategy (2022-2026) initiatives, aimed at providing spaces to support small and medium industries (SMEs) and enhance their growth, while creating a supportive and stimulating environment for industrial research, development, and innovation. The Minister of Industry and Commerce emphasised that this initiative represents a strategic step within the implementation of the Industrial Sector Strategy (2022-2026), as it provides direct support to small and medium industries and helps stimulate an environment of innovation and enhance research and development. He noted that enabling youth, makers, and innovators to access the necessary resources and appropriate infrastructure is a fundamental pillar for supporting their projects and turning ideas into innovative products, which contributes to developing the national economy and advancing its path toward a knowledge-based economy. On his part, Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed expressed pride in this partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, emphasising Hope Venture's commitment to creating a supportive and inspiring environment for ambitious Bahraini youth and empowering them in shaping the future of the national industry through embracing innovation concepts and modern technologies. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed added that the company is working to develop sustainable initiatives that meet the aspirations of the new generation and contribute to raising the competitiveness of Bahraini industries at both local and international levels. The centre will be established over an area exceeding 57,000 square meters and will include spaces for light manufacturing, logistics services, creative workspaces, co-working areas, administrative offices, training facilities, and other services.
