Dubai Police surprise inmate with emotional visit from children

DUBAI (ALETIHAD)In a heartwarming moment, Dubai Police surprised a female inmate at the Correctional and Punitive Institutions with a special visit from her four emotional reunion came after a long period of separation due to her imprisonment and personal family visit was organised by the General Department of Correctional and Punitive Institutions in cooperation with the Community Development Authority. It formed part of the Inmate Happiness initiative - launched under the directives of Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and overseen by Major General Eid Muhammad Thani, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs - and is designed to ease the emotional burden on inmates during their Jamila Al Zaabi, Director of the Women's Prison, explained that the inmate had been noticeably withdrawn and isolated from the other inmates. When approached by the prison administration, she confided that she deeply missed her children and had not seen them for a long learning her story, the administration worked swiftly and closely with the Community Development Authority to arrange the the day of the reunion, the inmate was informed that she had a visitor. She was taken by complete surprise when she saw her children waiting for her. Overcome with emotion, she burst into tears and embraced them in a powerful and touching Al Zaabi affirmed that the General Department of Correctional and Punitive Institutions is committed to fostering social and humanitarian efforts, including strengthening family ties for inmates. These efforts reflect Dubai Police's broader strategic objective of promoting happiness within the added that such initiatives are key to building trust between police and society, reinforcing the values of compassion and tolerance, and providing meaningful support to both inmates and their families.
