Katie Price says she's 'discriminated' against as she gives update on bankruptcies
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Katie Price has expressed her frustrations over perceived discrimination following her two bankruptcies despite being recently discharged from them. The 47 year old ex-glamour model, who once boasted a £40 million fortune, has spoken candidly about her financial tribulations, which saw her face a significant tax debt exceeding £750,000 and led to two bankruptcies within a challenging six-year period. Despite clearing her debts last March and looking forward to future triumphs, Katie has faced ongoing issues. Last year, after leaving her 'Mucky Mansion', the mother of five disclosed difficulties with securing a new home, attributing this to estate agents harbouring a "black mark" against her due to her publicised monetary struggles. She recounted instances where agents told her properties had been let to others after she showed interest, only to find they remained available—a situation that leads her to sense unfair treatment as she attempts to rebuild her life. Speaking on her podcast, 'The Katie Price Show', Katie voiced her determination: "I love it how I have gone through all what I have because I will get there again." She expressed frustration: "I just have a problem with when you have been in a bankruptcy, you just can't get anything. It is so annoying because I earn such good money. I earn, like I did back in the day, really good money but it makes no difference if you earn the money." Katie explained: "Once you get that black mark against your name, there's nothing you can do. Even when I go to rent a house, as soon as they know its my name, it is discrimination.", reports the Mirror. "They are like 'Oh no, no' and I am like 'Oh is it because of what you've read?'. Does it really matter, I have got the money and I can pay upfront. It's the name that puts people off and it's such discrimination." Katie was initially declared bankrupt in December 2019 for one year. At the time, her worth was estimated to be £40 million. She then agreed to make monthly payments of £12,000 to her creditors in an attempt to clear her debt. However, this was unsuccessful, and by July 2020, Katie found herself back in court for another bankruptcy hearing. She informed the court she was living in a rental property that cost her £4,200 per month. Then, in March 2024, during a brief hearing held at the Rolls Building, Insolvency and Companies Court in London, Katie was declared bankrupt a second time. During this hearing, it emerged that she owed £761,994.05 to HMRC, and the court found that she had failed to address this debt. Earlier this year, Katie announced her discharge from bankruptcy, expressing her relief: "I'm so happy. I can finally move on and leave these bankruptcies behind me, focusing only on the positive. Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this process."

Katie Price has 'black mark' over name after being rejected for rental houses
Former glamour model Katie Price has claimed she is discriminated against as she gave an insight into her life since being cleared of her two bankruptcies earlier this year Katie Price has shared her frustrations following her two bankruptcies as she claims she is discriminated against. The former glamour model, 47, has been open about her financial woes over the years. She has endured a tumultuous six years of money struggles, including two bankruptcies. The second of which happened following a significant tax debt of more than £750,000. However, in March she revealed she has been discharged from this - and is now ready to enjoy successes in the future. Katie, who once had a fortune of £40million, has still been hit by the consequences of her bankruptcies despite being cleared. The mum-of-five has revealed her financial situation is still hammering her life, having moved out of her Mucky Mansion last year. Following the move, Katie admitted she struggled to find somewhere else to live. She has claimed estate agents held a "black mark" against her name due to her well-known finances. Katie said she would receive calls from agents explaining properties had been rented to someone else after she expressed interest, yet claims they were still up for rent. It has left Katie believing she is being discriminated against as she tries to move forward. Speaking on the Katie Price Show podcast, Katie said: "I love it how I have gone through all what I have because I will get there again. "I just have a problem with when you have been in a bankruptcy, you just can't get anything. It is so annoying because I earn such good money. I earn, like I did back in the day, really good money but it makes no difference if you earn the money." She explained: "Once you get that black mark against your name, there's nothing you can do. Does it really matter, I have got the money and I can pay upfront. It's the name that puts people off and it's such discrimination." Katie was first declared bankrupt for a year in December 2019, despite her worth being estimated at £40million at the time. She agreed to pay an eyewatering £12,000 a month to creditors in a bid to dig herself out of debt. Unfortunately, this plan proved unsuccessful, and in July 2020, Katie was back in court at a bankruptcy hearing, where she revealed she was living in rented accommodation which was costing her £4,200 a month. In March 2024, Katie was declared bankrupt a second time during a short hearing at London's Rolls Building, Insolvency and Companies Court. At the hearing, it was heard that Katie owed £761,994.05 to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), and that she had not responded in regards to the debt. Earlier this year, Katie revealed she has been discharged from her bankruptcies as she celebrated: "I'm so happy. I can finally move on and leave these bankruptcies behind me, focusing only on the positive. Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this process."

Katie Price says both her bankruptcies have been discharged
Reality star Katie Price has said that both of her bankruptcies have been discharged. The former glamour model, 46, who has fronted various Channel 4 and BBC documentaries about her life, was declared bankrupt for a second time last year over an unpaid tax bill worth more than £750,000. Her first bankruptcy from 2019 was discharged earlier this year, after a hearing at the Insolvency and Companies Court. A representative for Ms Price confirmed to the PA news agency on Tuesday that the second bankruptcy has been discharged. Ms Price told The Sun: 'I'm so happy. I can finally move on and put these bankruptcies behind me and now only focus on the positive. 'Thank you to everyone that has supported me through this process.' Her solicitor Chris Keane, from Fieldfisher LLP, told the newspaper that Ms Price had been 'fully compliant with her Trustee in Bankruptcy and has been discharged from both bankruptcies in short order', after attending a private interview. Ms Price was first declared bankrupt in November 2019, and in February last year was ordered to pay 40% of her monthly income from the adult entertainment website OnlyFans until February 2027 to help pay off her debts. The court previously heard if the second bankruptcy remained in force she must pay money from OnlyFans to the trustee. In February, barrister Darragh Connell, representing the trustee of Ms Price's bankruptcies, told the Insolvency and Companies Court: 'As to the second bankruptcy, the trustee's position is that pursuant to information provided by Ms Price, the trustee has been undertaking inquiries with third parties. 'The outcome of those inquiries is not yet known.' He added: 'It may well transpire to be the case that an application is made to suspend discharge for a limited period, but that is not before the court today.' Ms Price had previously failed to attend a court date related to her bankruptcy, and an arrest warrant in July was issued. At the time, Ms Price said on Instagram that she was 'not running from matters' and was 'neither embarrassed or ashamed', and was 'fully aware of the severity of my current personal financial situation'. A private interview took place on September 24, according to a court hearing, where 'sufficient provision of information' was made to avoid the need for a public examination concerning her first bankruptcy. A public examination related to the second bankruptcy had been adjourned until April 8. According to the Government, a person is usually released from a bankruptcy within 12 months, meaning they are discharged from the restrictions and debts from the bankruptcy. However, the former bankrupt must pay debts that were not included in their bankruptcy, and a trustee continues to deal with the bankruptcy debt settlements. Price was a contestant on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004, where she first became romantic with former husband, singer Peter Andre. She won the 2015 series of Celebrity Big Brother, and most recently put out the Channel 4 documentary Katie Price: Making Babies about her fertility journey with ex-fiance Carl Woods.

What we know as one of Katie Price's bankruptcies is dropped
Katie Price will have one of her two bankruptcies dropped. Once thought to have a net worth of £40m thanks to her lucrative career, the former glamour model has been declared bankrupt for the second time in March last year over an unpaid tax bill of £761,994.05. The mum-of-five, 46, was first declared bankrupt in 2019 but this has now been dropped. The news one of her two bankruptcies will be left was decided at a specialist bankruptcy court in London on Tuesday but the reality TV star was not in attendance. Former I'm a Celebrity star Price was due to be quizzed over her finances at a hearing known as a public examination. While she wasn't in court, Price — who has been on several sun-soaked holidays despite her bankruptcy — was active on Instagram and she told her followers that her latest podcast The Katie Price Show was now available to stream. The news comes after the TV star — who is dating Married At First Sight UK star JJ Slater — performed at Butlin's over the weekend. The automatic dropping of Price's first bankruptcy had been suspended, meaning she was still bound by its terms. Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Sebastian Prentis lifted the suspension and it was backdated to December 7 last year, meaning the bankruptcy will now be dropped. Bankruptcy usually end after a year in England and Wales. Barrister Darragh Connell, representing the trustee of Price's bankruptcies, said: "The public examination of the first bankruptcy can be formally concluded in open court." The second bankruptcy over the unpaid tax bill of £761,994.05 will remain in place. A public examination into the bankruptcy was adjourned until April 8. Mr Connell said: "As to the second bankruptcy, the trustee's position is that pursuant to information provided by Ms Price, the trustee has been undertaking inquiries with third parties. The outcome of those inquiries is not yet known." He continued: "It may well transpire to be the case that an application is made to suspend discharge for a limited period, but that is not before the court today." In February last year, Price was ordered to pay 40% of her monthly income from the adult entertainment website OnlyFans. This would help pay off her debts until February 2027. While her second bankruptcy remains in force, the TV star must continue to pay money from OnlyFans to the trustee. Price has previously sold a naked shower video for £53 on OnlyFans. Celebrity photo news agency Backgrid — which supply exclusive photos of celebrities all over the world — was named in court last year as one of four companies that provide Price with income. At an earlier bankruptcy hearing last year, a judge ruled that her income from social media platform TikTok was suspended while she continued to pay off her debt. Price published her eighth autobiography This is Me: The High Life. The Dark Days. The FULL Story. in July last year. As a reality star, she has often invited cameras into her life for fly-on-the-wall documentary series. This year, her vitro fertilisation (IVF) documentary Katie Price: Making Babies aired on Channel 4 that she had previously filmed with her ex partner Carl Woods who then hit out at the show when it was available to stream.
