US Travel Vlogger Hospitalised After 15-Hour Train Journey In India

An American content creator's trip to India turned traumatic after he was hospitalised with a severe respiratory infection. Nick Maddock claims it was a result of a 15-hour train journey, which he called one of the most unhygienic experiences in his six years of travelling. "Never again," he vowed. Posting a video from a hospital with a display text, "Take the Indian sleeper train; it'll be an experience," Mr Maddock revealed he took a third AC coach to travel from Varanasi to New Jalpaiguri. The Missouri-based vlogger wrote, "Listen, I love India. It has warm and generous people, endless scenic landscapes, and a rich and sacred history, I can acknowledge that while simultaneously saying that my 15-hour train (in 3rd-class AC) from Varanasi to New Jalpaiguri was one of the grossest things I've seen in my 6 years of travelling. No higher class was available. It doesn't have to be like that." Mr Maddock is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bhutan. He wrote, "Three days later, in Bhutan I was diagnosed with a severe respiratory infection. I'm doing better now but it'll be a slow road to full recovery." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Nick Maddock (@nickmaddockglobal) He also shared a video from the train's washroom, showing its poor condition and the lack of cleanliness. The on-screen text read, "He doesn't know it yet, but 72 hours from now he'll be in the hospital with a severe respiratory infection." Mr Maddock, who has travelled to 120 countries in six years, claimed in the comment section that he was recommended by two people to take the train. He captioned the post, "Take the 15-hour Indian train, they said. It'll be fun, they said". View this post on Instagram A post shared by Nick Maddock (@nickmaddockglobal) His video went viral in no time on Instagram. While some showed sympathy, many criticised him over his travel choices and accused him of showing India in a poor light for just views. One user commented, "The majority of the tourists go to the poorest and bad areas of all countries in Asia and then proclaim that the entire country is like that. This is because these travellers are not financially able to go to well-to-do areas, then whining." Another wrote, "Next time increase your budget and book a 1st class." "Is there a law that stops foreigners from spending more than $2 a day when they travel to India?" commented another. One user wrote, "Want fame? Defame India when you visit!" Mr Maddock replied, "Is it too much to ask to clean up the piles of s**t off your train floors?" Mr Maddock replied to one of the comments, saying, "He has never faced so much hatred and vitriol for calling out a bathroom with a literal s**t on the floor and vomit caked in the sink." "It's actually surprising because people in India were so kind and warm and welcoming. I'll try not to let the keyboard warriors change my good perspective," he added. Earlier, in October, digital content creator Irina Moreno shared a video on her Instagram account showing the poor condition of a train's Western-style toilet while travelling in second class on the Udaipur City-Jaipur Intercity Express.

Rare shark's 'surprising' behaviour filmed off Aussie island in 'amazing encounter'

A rare creature's entertaining behaviour off the coast of a popular Aussie island has left a local shaking with excitement. Last week, Oliver Scheele was flying his drone around Magnetic Island, near Townsville, 'surveying and looking for ocean wildlife' — as he does often — when he caught site of an endangered scalloped hammerhead hunting during high tide. Incredible footage shows the hungry shark frantically trying to find something to eat on the water's surface. At one point it even munches on a leaf, only to spit it out moments later. Speaking to Yahoo News Australia, Oliver said the 'amazing encounter' left him stunned as he struggled to keep the drone steady due to his excitement. 'I was definitely surprised by its behaviour, that's one of the reasons I was so excited as well as the conditions being stellar,' he said. 'You're always on edge during these fleeting moments since you never know what the animal is going to do or how long you'll see it for. 'The stars really have to align to get visuals like it — you've got wind, water clarity, animal behaviour on the surface etcetera — truly an amazing experience. So with all that it in mind it was very hard to keep calm!' 🦈 Locals in awe as rarely-seen creature washes up on remote beach 🌊 Incredible footage of special creature 'very rarely seen in Australia' 🛥️ Warning after 'unusual sightseer' in Sydney Harbour worries locals While scalloped hammerhead sharks are relatively rare to see given they are globally classified as critically endangered, they can be found off the coast of New South Wales, Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia. 'Although it seems hard to believe, endangered scalloped and great hammerheads are still fished for fins and flesh in the waters of the Northern Territory and Western Australia,' according to the Australian Marine Conservation Society. Luckily for Oliver, he's spotted a total of three scalloped hammerhead sharks cruising around Magnetic Island over the years. 'There's a local that comes into Horseshoe Bay most dusks and dawns. It's always exciting to see a hammerhead pop up!' he said, suggesting local sharks species are attracted to trawlers that are often seen in the area. 'You can see the sharks feeding on small dead fish floating. Sharks really love easy meals so if they catch a scent, they will follow. Also being creatures of habit they will patrol areas that proved successful in the past.' Unfortunately, Oliver said the hammerhead he filmed last week was 'really close to the drumlines', and he feared it would become entangled, as others previously have. 'The drumlines don't discriminate on what they catch — they are a huge threat for endangered shark populations,' the local told Yahoo, claiming marine life can often become stuck for hours or even a full day. 'Hammerheads have a low tolerance to stress so safe releases are uncommon,' he added. Do you have a story tip? Rupert Murdoch's 'wild child' granddaughter Charlotte Freud passionately kisses new boyfriend

By Rupert Murdoch 's 'wild child' granddaughter Charlotte Freud has packed on the PDA with her new beau, following the shock collapse of her marriage. The daughter of PR guru Matthew Freud and Elisabeth Murdoch 'hard launched' her new romance with actor Isaak Presley, 22, last month. It appears that the pair are still going strong, with Charlotte, 25, sharing a series of loved-up photos to Instagram this week. Putting on quite the racy display, Charlotte wore a black corset and suspenders for the pulse-raising pics. She added an air of regal chic to her sultry gothic look with a silver tiara perched atop her jet black locks. Her beau, meanwhile, matched Charlotte in a black tank top and an eye-catching black leather cowboy hat. One romantic black and white photo showed the couple smiling as they stared longingly into each other's eyes. The pair were certainly not afraid to flaunt their recently ignited passion, with another photo showing the lovebirds sharing a very steamy kiss. The mood continued in another shot that documented the tender moment in black and white. Shot from a further distance, Charlotte flaunted her pert derrière and trim pins, which were augmented with fishnet stockings and suspenders. Another more playful image showed the couple hamming it up on what appeared to be a private jet. The photo, shot from Charlotte's perspective, showed her holding her leg aloft as Isaak, sitting opposite, prepared to cheekily bite her toes. Captioning the loved-up snaps, which were included in a series showing the couple celebrating with friends, Charlotte wrote: 'Easter, I hardly knew 'er.' The couple's racy display comes after they hard launched their new relationship in a western-themed photo shoot last month. Charlotte locked lips with the Netflix star as they dressed in coordinating cowboy-style ensembles. She jumped into her new beau's arms and straddled him for the steamy pictures, while Isaak romantically dipped and kissed her in another image. '(Yee) Haw-d launch,' she wrote in the caption, as he responded, 'You got me feelin' luckier than a cowboy with two aces in his boot.' Charlotte showed off her sensational figure in a pair of denim booty shorts teamed with fishnet stockings, a fringed belt and matching fringed cowboy boots. Meanwhile, Isaak was every inch the heartthrob in jeans, a Western shirt, a buckled belt and a cowboy hat. Charlotte is living with her new beau - who goes by the nickname 'Cowboy' owing to his love of horse riding - in Los Angeles, where she is focusing on writing musicals. Friends say Isaak, who starred in the screen hits Fuller House with John Stamos and Stuck in the Middle alongside rising star Jenna Ortega, is a good match for Charlotte. They are both sober, having struggled with alcohol and narcotics addiction in the past - with Charlotte's former hedonistic lifestyle earning her the unsavoury 'wild child' label. Charlotte appeared to confirm the relationship after tagging him in her bed in her latest Instagram post last month. Charlotte previously married British rapper Luke Storey - 15 years her senior - in 2022. They wed at St Mary's Church in Westwell, Oxfordshire in 2022, with her grandad Rupert flying in amid his divorce from his fourth wife, Texan supermodel Jerry Hall. However the pair split just 14 months later - though she claims it was over almost immediately after saying 'I do'. 'We had been married for 12 hours when our whole world fell apart,' she explained. 'He relapsed on the way to our honeymoon. It wasn't a great sign.' Charlotte, now 25, met Luke – a self-confessed recovering drug and alcohol addict – when she was just 18 and he was 33. He encouraged Charlotte to join Narcotics Anonymous, helping to end her addiction to ketamine. Charlotte once admitted that she used ketamine so frequently during high school that peers nicknamed her 'K-angel' after the drug. She said she struggled to cope with the high-profile scandals involving her family and 'overcompensated' for her glamorous upbringing by rebelling at school. Charlotte said she soon realised that recovery would play a big part in her marriage. She said: 'It felt like there were three people in the relationship – me and him and our recovery. 'If our recovery was strong then we were strong, and if it wasn't we were falling apart. We had a great relationship when we were sober, but neither of us could stay sober.

'Sex And The City's' Gay Male Showrunners Would Ask The Cast Seriously Intimate Questions About Sex Because They Didn't Know What Women Enjoy, And This Is Why We Need Women In Writers Rooms

This article includes graphic descriptions of sex acts. Earlier this year, Sex and the City star Kristin Davis launched a brand new podcast called Are You A Charlotte?, a tribute to her iconic SATC character Charlotte York. On the show, Kristin looks back at her time on the hit HBO series — which premiered in 1998 and ran until 2004 — and has wasted no time in sharing some seriously interesting secrets. In the very first episode, Kristin revealed that the role of Charlotte was very nearly reduced to a 'recurring character,' and the only reason it wasn't is because she kept conveniently 'forgetting' to sign an updated contract. She has also recalled begging Sex and the City's costume designer not to make her wear fur on the show, and detailed her feet being so swollen from shooting in heels all week that she had a special pair of tennis shoes that were one size too big to wear on weekends. Kristin also lifted the lid on the 'one and only time' that she and her castmates were allowed to ad-lib during filming, and the wholesome reason why. The scene in question happened during the show's second-ever episode, 'Model Behaviour,' where Carrie, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, explores the concept of a 'modelizer' — a man who will only have sex with models. In the episode, Carrie and Charlotte are joined by Samantha Jones and Miranda Hobbes, played by Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon, respectively, and as they enjoy a cozy evening together, the four women discuss their physical insecurities. Charlotte says that she is most insecure about her thighs, Miranda her chin, and Carrie her nose. Meanwhile, ever-confident Samantha refuses to say anything negative about herself because she is happy with how she looks. On her podcast, Kristin revealed that this scene was not scripted because the show's writers did not want to predict what each woman's insecurity would, or should, be. She explained: 'It's the one and only time that we were told we could ad-lib. After that, it never happened again; it was very, very frowned upon after this. But it was the sweetest reason why!' 'In this particular scene, we're talking about models and men who only date women who are models,' Kristin continued. 'And, you know, how we feel about that. Does it make us feel less than? I think that's something Carrie asks us, and then we were each supposed to say what we felt insecure about.' 'The writers didn't want to write that on paper,' she went on. 'That was very sweet of them not to want to write what they thought we would feel self-conscious about. To let us ad-lib what we felt self-conscious about, which was really kind.' And, as it happens, this isn't exactly the only time that Sex and the City's writers turned to the cast when it came to scripting scenes. On Thursday's episode of the pod, special guest Cynthia revealed that Kristin's anecdote had reminded her of a much more NSFW example of the male showrunners looking to the four leading ladies for help when writing the show. Instagram @iamkristindavis / Via 'You were talking about the time when they asked us what was the body part that we felt insecure about, or what we'd like to change, or whatever,' Cynthia began. 'There were however many episodes before we had any female writers, we just had Darren [Star], and then we had Darren and Michael Patrick [King].' At this point, Kristin interjected to say that she thought there was a female writer based in Los Angeles who worked on the show, but they never met. 'What I remember is,' Cynthia continued. 'There was, I don't remember what episode it is, but it's pretty early, where we were talking about blowjobs, and who likes them and who doesn't like them. And I remember they came and interviewed us all, remember this?' Dimitrios Kambouris / WireImage While she remembered the scene, Kristin did not recall the interviews, and couldn't hide her shock at what Cynthia was saying. 'They were, you know, they were gay men,' Cynthia explained. 'So they have their own opinions about blowjobs, right? And their own relationship to it — they were really kind of a little sheepish.' Kristin then clarified: 'When you say 'they,' do you mean Darren and Michael?' to which Cynthia confirmed: 'Darren and Michael. I remember Michael specifically; they might have come together. I think they came together and asked.' 'They wanted to know, I mean, the baseline question is: 'Women enjoy blowjobs? Is it just something you just do, you know, to get along?'' Cynthia continued. 'So they went and then they put different things that people said, not necessarily in the mouths of the person who had said it. I think every once in a while, before we had female writers that were in New York, it was like: 'We have women here, we really should ask them because we actually don't know.'' Jamie Mccarthy / WireImage Kristin continued to express her shock at how she'd managed to completely forget that this had happened, but she did say that she was 'so glad' that Darren and Michael had asked the cast instead of writing about something they didn't know about it. If you're wondering, the blowjob scene in question appears to be from Season 1, Episode 7, 'The Monogamists,' which aired in July 1998. In the episode, Charlotte has met somebody who she thinks is the perfect guy until they enter a so-called 'blowjob tug of war' where he wants her to perform oral sex, but she isn't keen. She then discusses the situation with the other three women over lunch, saying: 'The truth is, I hate doing it.' HBO / Via 'Honey, you can't be serious,' Samantha replies, and a shocked Miranda asks: 'Are you telling us that you never perform this act?' 'I don't like putting it in my mouth, I have a very sensitive gag reflex and it makes me want to puke,' Charlotte explains. 'It's not like I haven't tried; I've practiced on a banana, I pretended it was a popsicle, but I just don't like it.' The others then give their opinions, with Miranda saying: 'Personally, I'm loving it up to the point where the guy wants me to swallow.' Samantha adds: 'Some men just take it so personally if you don't,' to which Miranda exclaims: 'Some guys don't give you a choice!' HBO / Via Carrie, meanwhile, admits: 'It's not my favorite thing on the menu, but I'll order it from time to time… And with the right guy, it can be nice.' 'Plus, the sense of power is such a turn-on,' Samantha says. 'Maybe you're on your knees, but you've got them by the balls.' And when Carrie tells Charlotte not to do it if she doesn't want to, Miranda asks: 'But if you don't go down on him, how can you expect him to go down on you?' At this point, Charlotte says that she doesn't, and both Samantha and Miranda agree that they 'only give head to get head' as they tell her to 'forget it.'
