Its 360-degree hinge enables tablet or tent use, and it includes a fingerprint reader, backlit keyboard, and a 5MP IR camera for productivity and video calls. Its multi-touch screen and pen compatibility suit creative users, although the smaller battery (43Wh) can result in modest runtime compared to larger models in this price tier. {{#product}} {{/product}} ASUS Zenbook 14 is an ultralight premium model with an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H, 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, and a 1TB SSD. It's a 14-inch 3K OLED touchscreen with 120Hz and 500 nits HDR that creates stunning visuals. Limited gaming capability due to integrated Arc graphics is the main compromise. {{#product}} {{/product}} HP Omen 16 is a gaming powerhouse with Ryzen 7 7840HS, NVIDIA RTX 4060 8GB GPU, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and 1TB SSD. The 16.1" FHD IPS display (165Hz, 300 nits) and Tempest Cooling enable marathon gaming. High-speed memory, a big 83Wh battery, customizable RGB keyboard, and robust build round out the specs. This 2.32kg laptop suits gamers and creators; it's hefty, but supports AAA gaming with confidence. {{#product}} {{/product}} ASUS Vivobook 16X blends creative productivity with gaming. It features a 13th Gen i5-13420H, RTX 3050 4GB GPU, 16GB RAM, and a 16-inch FHD+ 144Hz screen. It's relatively portable at 1.67kg, making it ideal for students who need power and a large display for both work and games. It lacks an SSD expansion slot and advanced cooling, so it's not suited for extended AAA sessions. Acer Nitro V 15 packs a Ryzen 7-7735HS, RTX 4050 (6GB), 16GB DDR5 RAM, and 512GB SSD into a gaming-ready 2.1kg chassis. The 15.6-inch FHD IPS, 144Hz display and upgradable RAM/storage make it budget-friendly for budding gamers. Strong connectivity includes USB 4 and HDMI. Battery life is modest, and the fans may get loud under load—trade-offs for the strong performance and value. {{#product}} {{/product}} Apple's MacBook Air M1 offers top-tier battery life (up to 18h) with silent, fanless performance. The 13.3-inch Retina display is vibrant, and 8GB unified RAM supports daily multitasking. Instant-on, Touch ID, and seamless iPhone/iPad integration define the experience, with proven value for students, writers, or travellers needing all-day mobility. Storage is limited for heavy media work, and port selection is minimal, but for most productivity, it remains a best-in-class ultrabook. {{#product}} {{/product}} The newest MacBook Air (M4, 2025) offers even faster Apple M4 silicon, 16GB unified memory, and a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display with support for 1B colours. Apple Intelligence infuses AI features system-wide. With up to 18 hours of battery and ultra-portable 1.24kg design, it suits power users on the move. Storage at 256GB may limit professionals' editing of large raw files. Otherwise, integration with iPhone/Apple ecosystem is at its best. Dell Black Friday in July sale — 15 back to school deals I recommend now
Heading back to campus is probably the last thing on your mind right now. However, July is a great month for back to school laptop sales. Sure, you'll see laptop deals throughout the entire summer, but one of my favorite annual sales is happening right now. The Dell Black Friday in July sales event is still going strong and although I'm normally skeptical of "Black Friday in July" sales, Dell's sale has a lot to offer. For example, right now Dell laptops are on sale from $249. Meanwhile, if you need a new display, Dell monitors are on sale from $113. My favorite deal of the moment is the XPS 13 laptop on sale for $749 at Dell. It's an epic price for a machine that houses a Snapdragon X Elite CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. I haven't seen a better convertible PC deal than this one on Memorial Day
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Memorial Day deals are live everywhere, and I'm seeing plenty of deep discounts on Windows laptops. HP's OmniBook 5 Flip is a convertible laptop with specs and features that usually cost a lot closer to $1,000. It's priced at $900 at HP's official site, and it's normally $800 at Best Buy. Right now, however, you can pick it up for $449.99 at Best Buy while supplies last (or until Memorial Day comes to an end). HP OmniBook 5 FlipWas: 799.99Now: $449.99 at Best Buy This discounted convertible PC is part of HP's latest brand refresh, and it's made for casual computing, streaming, and TV watching. It has some great features you don't usually find in a laptop so affordable. Display: 14 inches, 1920x1200 (FHD+), IPS, Touch. CPU: Intel Core 5 120U. GPU: Intel Graphics (Integrated). RAM: 8GB LPDDR5. Storage: 512GB M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. 👉See at: Return period: 15 days. Price match? Yes (Also applies within return period). Free shipping: $35 minimum. Membership: My Best Buy w/ free shipping, exclusive deals, 60-day return period, & expanded support. 💰 Price check: $899.99 at HP 👀 Alternate deal: $599.99 OmniBook X (Snapdragon X Plus) at Best Buy Spending $449 on a laptop doesn't always deliver the best results. However, the OmniBook 5 Flip certainly belongs to a higher tier due to its included features. It's a 14-inch convertible PC that can be used as a notebook or tablet, with tent and stand modes in between. It has an aluminum chassis that'll stand up to use and abuse much better than plastic, but it only weighs about 3.6 pounds. The backlit keyboard is comfortable (HP arguably offers the best typing experience right now), the touchpad makes good use of space, and there are plenty of ports, including two USB-C 3.2 (Gen 2) and HDMI. Wireless connectivity is handled by speedy and reliable Wi-Fi 6E, with Bluetooth 5 for accessories. A 14-inch touch display works with active pens for inking, and it has a 1920x1200 (FHD+) resolution to accommodate the taller 16:10 aspect ratio. Above the screen is a 5MP webcam with an IR sensor for facial recognition through Windows Hello. Performance is centered around the Intel Core 5 120U CPU with 10 cores, 12 threads, and a clock speed up to 5GHz. It lacks a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for local AI tasks, but that ends up saving you money. Joining the CPU are 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM and a 512GB M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. Altogether, that's enough power for standard, everyday computing, productivity, and homework.
