RM50,000 reward offered for information on Penang Hill animal killings
GEORGE TOWN: A RM50,000 reward is available for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the recent animal killings on Penang Hill.
The International Aid for the Protection and Welfare of Animals (IAPWA) has increased the reward to encourage justice.
"IAPWA Penang, with the support of reliable and compassionate individuals who stand firmly against cruelty, has increased the reward to RM50,000.
"The reward is for those with direct and verifiable information leading to the arrest and prosecution of anyone involved in poisoning, killing, maiming, or inflicting cruelty on stray cats, stray dogs, or wildlife on Penang Island, within the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) administrative area.
"This reward is offered to show that many in our society do not tolerate acts of cruelty towards animals. It applies to real evidence only, not reposted or viral content, and there is no deadline," it said in a statement on Saturday (July 12)
It added that the reward is available to those with information on any case of animal abuse occurring recently or in the past on Penang Hill.

On July 6, several animals, including dogs and cats, were found dead—believed to be poisoned—on Penang Hill.
Among them were seven dogs, two cats, and five birds found at various locations on the hill.
