Women in Bahrain Invited to Join Global AI Training Movement
TDT | Manama Bahraini women now have the opportunity to join a major global initiative to learn artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, as the International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics (ICAIRE) opens the doors to the second phase of its ELEVATE programme. Developed in partnership with Microsoft, the programme aims to train 25,000 women worldwide through a flexible online format. Open to women of all backgrounds, it offers practical AI skills, globally recognised certifications, and personalised mentorship from international experts. Skills for the future The training covers a range of in-demand topics including machine learning, computer vision, cloud computing, data analysis, and AI ethics. Delivered entirely in English through a virtual platform, ELEVATE is designed to increase accessibility and eliminate barriers to participation, particularly for women in regions with limited access to advanced tech education. 'This is not just a training programme - it's a global movement to empower women with the tools, confidence, and opportunities to shape the future of technology,' the ICAIRE team said in a statement. Equal access push ELEVATE reflects ICAIRE's broader mission to promote inclusive participation in the digital economy and close the gender gap in the AI sector. ICAIRE Honored for Outstanding Contribution to AI Olympiad
The International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), a UNESCO Category II Center based in Riyadh, has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence for its exceptional role in the inaugural International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (IAIO), held in September 2024. The award was presented at the closing ceremony of the Global AI Summit in Geneva, highlighting a significant milestone in ICAIRE's mission to promote ethical and inclusive AI worldwide. This recognition reflects ICAIRE's growing influence in the global AI community. Co-organized by ICAIRE and the International Research Center on Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI) in Slovenia, the IAIO brought together 90 young AI innovators from 25 countries to compete in advanced fields such as machine learning, robotics, and computer vision. ICAIRE, Microsoft Launch 2nd Phase of 'Elevate Initiative' to Train 5,000 Women in AI
The International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), headquartered in Riyadh, has announced the launch of the second cohort of its Elevate Initiative , in collaboration with Microsoft and under the sponsorship of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). This new phase aims to train 5,000 women worldwide in artificial intelligence, following the success of the first cohort, which equipped 1,000 women with foundational AI skills. The program forms part of ICAIRE's broader mission to build AI capacity among 25,000 women across the globe. The announcement was made by ICAIRE Acting Managing Director Dr. Abdulrahman Habib during a dialogue session at the third annual UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of AI, held this year in Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. Habib also emphasized ICAIRE's leadership in ethical AI research, its role in shaping policy recommendations, and its commitment to fostering global dialogue around responsible AI development. He highlighted inclusivity as a critical factor in driving innovation and expanding the intellectual landscape in AI. Moreover, increasing female representation in the AI sector, he said, is essential—and the Elevate Initiative plays a key role in making that vision a reality. The program offers a six-week, 26-hour curriculum that combines interactive courses, hands-on workshops, and mentorship from certified experts. Additionally, participants will receive a certificate of attendance and a scholarship to take the Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900) certification exam.
