EDGE to provide UAE industry with advanced defence production facility
Abu Dhabi, UAE – EDGE, one of the world's leading advanced technology and defence groups, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ECCI (Emirates Cable Corporation Interconnect), a UAE-based manufacturing company specialising in the design and production of world-class cable and tactical harness solutions, to deliver an advanced cable harness manufacturing facility. Signed at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference 2025 (IDEX 2025), EDGE entity HALCON, a regional leader in the end-to-end manufacturing and production of smart weapon systems, will hand over a fully functional, high-technology cable harness facility to ECCI in Abu Dhabi. The MoU is the latest development from HALCON in supporting the UAE's 'Make it in the Emirates' and 'Industry 4.0' initiatives. In line with 'Operation 300bn', the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology's industrialisation strategy, EDGE is contributing to developing a local defence industrial base, generating in-country value, diversifying the economy, and positioning the UAE as a serious global defence player. EDGE to Integrate MILSAR Radars onto GARMOOSHA UAS - Middle East Business News and Information
ADASI, a regional leader in autonomous systems and services within EDGE, one of the world's leading advanced technology and defence groups, signed a contract today to integrate MILSAR radars from Meteksan Defence, one of the largest defence companies in Türkiye, onto the GARMOOSHA unmanned aerial system (UAS). Signed at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference 2025 (IDEX 2025), the contract will enable ADASI to offer the GARMOOSHA UAS with a new, fully integrated non-kinetic payload featuring versatile moving target indication modes for detection and tracking of potential targets. The MILSAR radar will also provide end-users of the GARMOOSHA with a synthetic aperture radar mode for high resolution and all-weather imagery, target classification, and ground mapping. The GARMOOSHA is an advanced rotary-wing UAS designed for tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. Developed and manufactured by ADASI, the GARMOOSHA is the first entirely UAE-made UAS in its class. Signed at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference 2025 (IDEX 2025), the contract is a significant milestone in ensuring CARACAL's advanced line of combat pistols, sub-machine guns, mission-proven assault rifles, precision sniper rifles, and light machine gun preform to the highest industry standards. Under the contract, CARACAL LIGHT AMMUNITION (CLA), the UAE's sole producer of military-grade ammunition and subsidiary of CARACAL, will also utilise the testing, validation, accreditation, and certification facilities.
