Visakhapatnam to host Milan 2026, International Fleet Review
VIJAYAWADA: The Port City is set to host the Milan 2026, a biennial Indian Navy's flagship exercise, and the International Fleet Review from February 14 to 24. On Wednesday, Eastern Naval Command (ENC) Chief of Staff Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena met Chief Secretary K Vijayanand at the Secretariat. On this occasion, the Chief Secretary clarified that the State government will provide all necessary support and assistance to make the event a grand success. These events also help Andhra Pradesh in garnering international recognition in terms of tourism, he affirmed. The Chief Secretary said that since the President of India, the Prime Minister, and other dignitaries from various countries will be attending the Fleet Review, appropriate arrangements should be made accordingly. He also stressed the need to take steps to beautify Visakhapatnam city in all respects, especially in terms of improving roads, and installation of electric lights. He advised the Visakhapatnam Collector, VMRDA, Visakhapatnam Port Trust, National Highways Authority of India, and Eastern Naval Command officials to take further steps. Furthermore, he directed the speedy completion of various civil works that are currently in progress. Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena said that 145 countries have been invited to the International Fleet Review and Milan 2026 events which will be held between February 14 to 24. He said that the top brass of the respective navies and other representatives are also expected to attend in large numbers. Principal Secretary (GAD) Mukesh Kumar Meena, Principal Secretary (Municipal Administration Department) S Suresh Kumar, International Fleet Review Commodore Aby Mathew and other officials were present.

Int'l fleet review in Visakhapatnam in February
Amaravati: An international fleet review will be held in Visakhapatnam in the third week of February next year under the auspices of the Indian Navy. Fleet review can be described as an international maritime exercise conducted to improve relations with the navies of different countries. In this regard, Visakhapatnam Eastern Naval Command Chief of Staff Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena met with Chief Secretary K Vijayanand at the State Secretariat here on Wednesday and reviewed the upcoming international fleet review and the organisation of MILAN-2026. Speaking on this occasion, Vijayanand clarified that the State government will provide all necessary support and assistance to make the event a success. The organisation of the fleet review will not only benefit India internationally but also Andhra Pradesh in particular. He said that Visakhapatnam will get good recognition. Similarly, it will get international recognition in terms of tourism. The Chief Secretary said that since the President of India, the Prime Minister, and other dignitaries from various countries will be attending the Fleet Review, appropriate arrangements should be made accordingly. Vijayanand advised Visakhapatnam District Collector Harendira Prasad to take appropriate steps to improve beautification and other infrastructure. Speaking at the meeting, Vice-Admiral Sameer Saxena said that the International Fleet Review and Milan-2026 events will be held in Visakhapatnam from February 14 to 24 under the auspices of the Indian Navy. He said that 145 countries have been invited to the Fleet Review and that the naval chiefs and other representatives of those countries will participate in large numbers. He assured the Chief Secretary that he would provide full cooperation on behalf of the state government. International Fleet Review and MILAN to be conducted in Visakhapatnam in February 2026

Indian Navy platforms arrive in Indonesia to participate in IFR and Exercise Komodo
Bali : Indian Navy's INS Shardul and Long Range Maritime Surveillance P8I aircraft arrived in Bali, Indonesia on Sunday to participate in the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2025, scheduled from February 15 to 22. The IFR, a prestigious multinational naval event, will be reviewed by the President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and will witness the participation of Naval forces from various countries, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement. During this period, the Indian Navy will also take part in various high-level engagements including International Maritime Security Symposium, and tactical floor games. Additionally, the crew will join in multinational activities such as a city parade, baby turtle release, coral and mangrove plantation and beach cleaning underscoring commitment towards environmental conservation and maritime cooperation, the release stated. Following IFR 25, both INS Shardul and the P8I will participate in Exercise Komodo, a multilateral naval exercise aimed at enhancing maritime interoperability and regional security cooperation. This follows the participation of INS Mumbai and the P8I aircraft in the LA PEROUSE exercises in Indonesia in January and the visit of Adm Muhammad Ali, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, to India, as part of the high-level delegation accompanying President Prabowo Subianto, the Chief Guest for the Republic Day Parade, the release stated "Indian Navy's regular participation in the exercise is a reaffirmation of India's commitment to engage with the regional Navies to maintain Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR)," the Ministry added. AMAN-2025 exercise kicks off on Feb 7
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy is set to host the ninth edition of multinational AMAN-25 exercise from February 7 to 11, with participation from ships, aircraft, special operations forces (SOF), explosives ordnance disposal (EOD) teams, marines, and observers from 60 countries. A key feature of AMAN-25 will be the first AMAN Dialogue, where chiefs of naval forces, heads of coast guards, and senior leaders from around the world will discuss regional maritime security and devise joint strategies to counter evolving maritime threats. According to a news release issued by Director General Public Relations (Navy), delegations from across the globe will also attend the inaugural International AMAN Dialogue, which will take place alongside the exercise. The AMAN series has been a hallmark of the Pakistan Navy's efforts to promote regional peace and cooperation. Launched in 2007, the inaugural exercise saw the participation of 28 countries. By 2023, the number of participating nations had grown to 50. The motto of the AMAN series, "Together for Peace," reflects its core mission, while this year's theme, "Secure Seas; Prosperous Future," emphasises the importance of maritime security for global prosperity. AMAN exercise consists of harbour and sea phases. During the harbour phase, activities such as seminars, operational discussions, counter-terrorism demonstrations, and pre-sail planning of evolutions at sea will be held. The sea phase would include tactical manoeuvres, exercises related to maritime security such as anti-piracy and counter-terrorism, search and rescue, gunnery firings and air defence exercises. The highlight of the sea phase will be the International Fleet Review, which will be witnessed by national and foreign dignitaries. Pak Marines and Special Service Group (Navy) would demonstrate counter-terrorism skills during the peace exercise.
