Malta announces plans to set up cultural and trade centre in Nagpur

1 2 3 4 Nagpur: The Governor General of the International Organisation for Diplomatic Relations (IODR) of the Republic of Malta, Lello Marra, announced plans to set up a cultural and trade centre in Nagpur. This was disclosed during an exclusive interaction hosted by the Association for Industrial Development (AID), said a press release. The centre will promote bilateral trade, cultural, and youth exchange. Marra said, "Nagpur is not just an industrial hub, its central location makes it a vital gateway to India." He also stressed developing youth for innovation, stability, and peace. "They should be nurtured to become responsible citizens and global entrepreneurs," he said. Marra praised Vidarbha's development, noting how even tribal and remote regions are progressing steadily. While addressing Malta's own limitations of space and port capacity, Marra stressed the need for sustainable development through collective commitment, according to the press release. It was mooted that Malta can even market the forests of Vidarbha among the tourists visiting the European country. The delegation was headed by Malta's Governor General International Organisation for Diplomatic Relations (IODR) Lello Marra, International Secretary Marcello Patti, and Correspondent Diplomat Afzal Mitha. Talking to media, Mitha said Malta, which is predominantly a tourism-based economy, may also consider promoting jungle safaris in India among the tourists coming there. The delegation was taken to Pench forest reserve. It was suggested that they could attract tourists who visit Malta to also explore the forests in Vidarbha, said Mitha. As the delegates met businessmen, Vidarbha's rising profile as a tourism destination was highlighted in light of Samruddhi Expressway and other developments, said a press release.
