Saudi trade surplus hits SR30 billion in February 2025
Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's trade balance recorded a surplus of SR 30.6 billion during February 2025, achieving a monthly growth of 44.6% with an increase of more than SR9 billion, compared to January, when the trade surplus amounted to SR21.1 billion. This was the highest in nine months, specifically since May 2024, in which a surplus of SR30.1 billion was recorded. According to preliminary data issued in Saudi Arabia's International Trade Bulletin, the total volume of international trade in February 2025 amounted to approximately SR156.9 billion, achieving an annual growth of 4% compared to an increase of more than SR1 billion, compared to February 2024, when it amounted to SR29.4 billion. Saudi Arabia's commodity exports amounted to about SR 93.7 billion, compared to SR63.2 billion, the value of commodity imports. Non-oil national exports amounted to about SR16.1 billion, representing 17.1% of the total exports, while oil exports recorded about SR67.6 billion, representing 72.1% of the total, while the value of re-exports amounted to about SR10 billion, representing 10.7% of the total countries group topped the list of importing groups for Saudi Arabia's exports, accounting for 73.7% of the total commodity exports, with a value exceeding SR69 billion, followed by the European countries group with a percentage of 12.5% and a value exceeding SR11 billion, then the African countries group with a percentage of 8.4% and a value exceeding SR7 ranked first among the countries importing Saudi Arabia's exports, with a percentage of 16.2% and a value of SR15.2 billion, followed by South Korea with a 10.1% and a value of SR9.5 billion, then the United Arab Emirates with a percentage of 9.8% and a value of SR9.2 for non-oil exports (including re-exports), they passed through (31) land, sea and air customs ports, and their initial value amounted to SR26.1billion, as King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh topped the customs ports with a value of SR3.2 billion, representing (12.4%) of the total, followed by Jeddah Islamic Port with a value of SR3.1 billion, representing 12% of the total.

Saudi Arabia's trade with Arab League countries exceeds SR87 bln
Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH — Saudi Arabia's trade with Arab League nations, including Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), reached approximately SR87.7 billion during the fourth quarter of 2024, according to country groups. Trade represents approximately 17.2% of Saudi Arabia's total trade with all countries worldwide, amounting to approximately SR510.9 billion. This represents an annual growth rate of 6.2%, with an increase of more than SR5 billion, compared to the same period in 2023, which amounted to approximately SR82.6 billion. According to the General Authority for Statistics' quarterly International Trade Bulletin, Saudi Arabia's trade surplus with Arab League countries, including the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), exceeded SR30.46 billion during the fourth quarter of 2024, compared to a surplus of approximately SR22.18 billion during the same period in 2023. This represents an annual growth of 37.3%, exceeding SR8.27 billion, SPA Reported. Saudi Arabia's exports amounted to approximately SR59.11 billion, of which SR39.5 billion were to GCC countries, representing approximately 14.2% of Saudi Arabia's total exports to all countries worldwide, which amounted to approximately SR277.9 billion. Exports to Arab League countries, excluding GCC countries, amounted to SR19.6 billion, representing approximately 7.1% of Saudi Arabia's total exports to all countries around the world. Saudi Arabia's imports from Arab League countries totaled SR28.653 billion, or 12.3% of total imports. Within this, SR18.354 billion came from GCC countries, and SR10.298 billion from other Arab League nations. The Kingdom's total global imports were SR233.042 billion. The United Arab Emirates emerged as Saudi Arabia's top Arab export destination in Q4 2024, with exports exceeding SR23.512 billion. Bahrain followed with SR8.423 billion, Egypt with SR8.353 billion, Oman with SR4.434 billion, and Jordan with SR2.999 billion

This marks a 6.2% increase year-over-year, up from SAR82.7 billion in Q4 2023. According to the General Authority for Statistics' quarterly International Trade Bulletin , the Kingdom's trade surplus with Arab League nations saw a notable 37.3% jump, reaching SAR30.5 billion in Q4 2024, compared to SAR22.2 billion in the same quarter of 2023. Saudi exports to Arab League countries totaled SAR59.1 billion, with SAR39.5 billion directed to GCC nations—representing 14.2% of total global exports (SAR278 billion). Exports to non-GCC Arab League countries stood at SAR19.6 billion, or 7.1% of total exports. Saudi Arabia's Total Imports Imports from Arab League countries totaled SAR28.7 billion, equivalent to 12.3% of Saudi Arabia's total imports. Of this, SAR18.4 billion came from GCC countries, while SAR10.3 billion originated from other Arab League nations. Overall, the Kingdom's global imports for Q4 2024 reached SAR233 billion. The United Arab Emirates remained Saudi Arabia's leading Arab export partner during the quarter, receiving over SAR23.5 billion in goods. Bahrain followed with SAR8.4 billion, Egypt with SAR8.35 billion, Oman with SAR4.4 billion, and Jordan with SAR3 billion. Saudi Arabia's Arab League Trade Exceeds SAR87 Billion in Q4 2024
Saudi Arabia's trade with Arab League nations, including the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), reached SAR87,768 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024, representing 17.2% of the Kingdom's total global trade of SAR510,974 billion. This trade volume demonstrates a 6.2% annual growth rate, exceeding the Q4 2023 figure of SAR82,679 billion by over SAR5 billion, SPA reported. According to the General Authority for Statistics' quarterly International Trade Bulletin, the Kingdom's trade surplus with Arab League countries, including the GCC, significantly increased to SAR30,461 billion in Q4 2024, up from SAR22,185 billion in the same period of 2023, marking a 37.3% annual growth. Saudi Arabia's total exports to Arab League countries amounted to SAR59,114 billion. Of this, SAR39,507 billion were destined for GCC nations, accounting for 14.2% of the Kingdom's total global exports of SAR277,932 billion. Exports to non-GCC Arab League countries reached SAR19,607 billion, representing 7.1% of total exports. Saudi Arabia's imports from Arab League countries totaled SAR28,653 billion, or 12.3% of total imports. Within this, SAR18,354 billion came from GCC countries, and SAR10,298 billion from other Arab League nations. The Kingdom's total global imports were SAR233,042 billion. Saudi non-oil exports jump 18% in December 2024
RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's non-oil exports increased by 18.1% in December 2024, compared to the same month in 2023, while re-exports rose by 23.4% during the same period. However, overall merchandise exports declined by 2.8%, and imports grew by 27.1% year-on-year. According to the International Trade Bulletin for December 2024 released today by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT), chemical products were the largest segment of non-oil exports, accounting for 25.9% of the total. Meanwhile, data from the fourth-quarter International Trade Bulletin for 2024 indicated that non-oil exports, including re-exports, rose by 17.3% compared to the same quarter in 2023. National non-oil exports (excluding re-exports) increased by 8.2%, whereas re-exports surged by 47.3%. Total merchandise exports in Q4 declined by 6.1% year-on-year, mainly driven by a 13.3% decrease in oil exports. Consequently, the share of oil exports in total exports dropped from 76.4% in Q4 2023 to 70.5% in Q4 2024.
