Man from Charlottetown charged with making child pornography, RCMP say

Social Sharing A 30-year-old man from Charlottetown is facing charges of making and possessing child pornography, as well as sexual interference. The RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation Unit in Prince Edward Island arrested and charged the man earlier this month, the force said in a news release Friday afternoon. The release said the man was arrested after the RCMP executed a search warrant on Feb. 3. The accused was released from custody after agreeing to conditions that include having no access to electronics or the internet and staying away from people under 18. He is scheduled to appear in provincial court on March 20 to answer to a charge of making child pornography as well as two counts of possession of child pornography and a count of sexual interference. Making child pornography carries a minimum sentence of one year, with the maximum being 14 years, according to the Criminal Code of Canada. A charge of sexual interference involves an alleged victim under the age of 16.
