Pennsylvania boy severely burns brother after pouring boiling water on him for social media prank, police say
A 9-year-old boy in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, suffered severe burns after his 12-year-old brother poured boiling water on him during a prank gone wrong, police said. In a news release on Tuesday, the Lancaster Township Police Department said the 12-year-old brother decided to prank his young brother as part of the "Hot Water Challenge." Lancaster Township police said the older boy boiled water in the microwave before pouring it on his sleeping brother, resulting in severe burns to the boy's neck and chest. The 9-year-old boy was taken to Lehigh Valley Health Network's Burn Recovery Center in Allentown for treatment. The incident happened on July 29, and authorities said they are investigating. The boy's exact condition was not released. In the news release, Lancaster Township police said it wants to remind parents to monitor the online activity of their kids. The department provided a resource for parents to review from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program. A brochure provides "not only advice on how to take control and monitor your child's online activity, but it provides links on how to control/monitor your child's specific device, as well as many other useful tips," Lancaster Township police said in the news release. The "Hot Water Challenge" is just the latest social media trend that has injured a young child. In August 2024, a viral Jolly Rancher TikTok recipe left a 9-year-old boy in Fayette County with severe burns. Doctors at Shriners Children's Boston also warned parents about the viral recipe.

She said: " We've always been absolutely upfront with everyone. And guess what? "A lot of these people have our backs because they have personally witnessed Josh around their children and know that there's no issue." He ultimately accepted a non-negotiable plea deal and pleaded guilty to 20 counts, while the remaining 20 charges were dropped. Brittani shockingly rejected the claim that child images were on his "work laptop," slamming them as "false". She ranted: " Josh could not possibly have that on his work laptop because if you have ever worked for a corporation or any big company or anything along those lines, you know how secure those computers are." Advertisement Brittani also pushed back against accusations that they were merely showing "fake lives" across their social media platforms, and said they are "still happy" as a couple despite the vile charges. She rambles: " We are still happy. He and I have no issues. He has been fully transparent and honest with me. "Therefore, I know everything. I have been to court. I know everything. I can assure you that nothing about us was fake." Stapleton will have to abide by multiple "sex offender" conditions upon his release. Rochester man faces 9 criminal charges related to child sexual abuse materials
Jul. 3—ROCHESTER — A Rochester man admitted to possessing and disseminating child sexual abuse materials after police searched his residence, according to new charges filed in Olmsted County District Court. Christian Santiago Duran-Ayala, 24, is facing five counts related to disseminating and possessing CSAM, one count of using minors in a sexual performance, two counts related to child solicitation and one count of distributing CSAM via electronic communication, all felonies. According to the complaint, Rochester police received three Internet Crimes Against Children tips on June 6 that contained suspected CSAM. The files were shared within Kik, a messaging service, 52 times between June 2024 and December 2024. Law enforcement found the IP address was registered to apartments in northeast and northwest Rochester. The phone number associated with the address belonged to Duran-Ayala, the complaint said. A search warrant for Duran-Ayala's Kik found 10,000 messages between him and other users. Duran-Ayala was portraying a boy, sometimes as young as 11. According to the complaint, Duran-Ayala would send sexually explicit photos and ask others to send them back. Police searched Duran-Ayala's residence on July 1. The complaint said Duran-Ayala acknowledged that there was CSAM on his devices and that he successfully solicited "numerous minors" to record themselves doing sexual acts. Duran-Ayala estimated receiving more than 50 sexual images and videos from people claiming to be minors, the complaint said. He was released on his own recognizance after his first appearance in court on Thursday, July 3. An initial appearance is scheduled for Aug. 20.
