Intersec Saudi Arabia has announced a strategic collaboration with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The partnership will be a key highlight of this year's Fire Protection and Technology Summit.
Founded in 1896, the NFPA is a global nonprofit organisation. It aims to eliminate death, injury, and property loss caused by fire and related hazards. The association supports these goals through over 300 consensus codes and standards, research, education, training, outreach, and advocacy.
NFPA will host a series of sessions on 30 September during Intersec Saudi. The sessions will address critical themes such as: Protecting GIGA Developments and large-scale events in the Kingdom
Building human capital in fire protection
Navigating new fire safety regulations and compliance
Jim Pauley, President and CEO of NFPA, said the organisation is proud to support Saudi Arabia as it transforms under Vision 2030. He highlighted the importance of aligning with international fire and life safety standards to protect lives and infrastructure.
The summit will open with keynote remarks by Pauley and officials from Saudi Civil Defense. The sessions are curated by NFPA and led by Zahi Daher, Saudi Country Manager of International Business Development.
Daher stated that NFPA Day is a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and raising fire protection standards. The goal is to build safer communities across the Kingdom.
The sessions will focus on the role of standards in driving innovation and public safety. Attendees will also gain insights into NFPA's certifications and training programs tailored to Saudi Arabia's needs.
The event will end with a networking session, providing opportunities for partnerships and collaboration in fire and life safety.
Bilal Al Barmawi, CEO and Founder of 1st Arabia Trade Shows & Conferences, noted that the event supports Vision 2030 by advancing international safety standards.
The Fire Protection and Technology Summit will explore trends in emergency response and firefighting innovation. Topics will include AI and IoT in fire detection, smart city firefighting, high-rise rescues, and disaster response.
Lessons from major events like Hajj will also be discussed. In addition, Saudi Arabia's fire safety systems for its emerging space sector will be featured.
On 1 October, the summit will spotlight the contributions of women in fire protection. It will also focus on training future experts and building human capital.
Riham Sedik, Exhibition Director at Intersec Saudi Arabia, said the event will drive impactful discussions with industry leaders and authorities. Intersec Saudi Arabia will run from 29 September to 1 October at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event is organised by 1st Arabia and licensed by Messe Frankfurt.
