Does ‘Karate Kid: Legends' Have A Post-Credits Scene? Why You Should Stay Seated

Karate Kid: Legends is now in theaters. Karate Kid: Legends is now playing in theaters everywhere. As you watch the movie on the big screen, you might be wondering whether there's a mid- or post-credits scene that continues the story or teases a future sequel in the beloved franchise. Set three years after the series finale of Cobra Kai, Karate Kid: Legends reunites iconic martial arts masters for a new adventure, bringing back stars like Jackie Chan as Mr. Han and Ralph Macchio as Daniel Laruso while introducing newcomers like Ben Wang as Li Fong. 'After moving to New York City with his mother, kung fu prodigy Li Fong struggles to let go of the past as he tries to fit in with his new classmates," the official synopsis reads. "When a new friend needs his help, Li enters a karate competition – but his skills alone aren't enough. With help from Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso, he soon learns to merge two styles into one for the ultimate martial arts showdown.' Legends director Jonathan Entwistle spoke to Inverse about what it was like merging the original Karate Kid movies with Macchio and Chan's 2010 reboot into a cohesive story for the 2025 sequel. 'For me, I was very excited that there was already a menu. There was already a recipe in there for what this could be, the heart, the mentorship, the found family, all of these types of things are in there,' he explained. 'Li Fong as the mentor for Victor, and then Jackie and Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso being the mentor again for Li, and Miyagi being everybody's mentor within all of these pieces.' Karate Kid: Legends is expected to have a $30 million debut at the box office this weekend – if Cobra Kai fans show up in full force – according to Variety. The film currently holds a 55% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 92 reviews so far, with more expected to roll in throughout the weekend. Here's everything to know about the Karate Kid: Legends post-credits scene and whether you should stay in your seat until the very end. Karate Kid: Legends has an extra scene that plays after the title card but before the actual credits, so technically, there's a post-credits scene you'll want to stick around for after the movie ends. Warning: Spoiler ahead for the end-credits scene in Karate Kids: Legends. Cobra Kai. (L to R) William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence, Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso in Cobra Kai. ... More Cr. Curtis Bonds Baker/Netflix © 2024 After the 5 Boroughs tournament, viewers return to the pizza shop with Li Fong, Mr. Han, and the others. They order one pizza to go for Daniel LaRusso, who is staying at Mr. Miyagi's house in California. The uncooked pizza comes with a thank you message from Mr. Han and adds if Daniel ever needs anything, he knows where to find him. In the final scene, there's also a surprise cameo from Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), last seen in Netflix's spinoff Cobra Kai. Johnny and Daniel, who have since moved past their rivalry, share some friendly banter. When Johnny sees the pizza, he jokes that they should open a Mr. Miyagi-themed pizzeria called "Miyagi Dough," while Daniel decides to go actually cook the pizza. Thankfully, the Karate Kid franchise doesn't seem to be over yet – at least not for Daniel. Macchio confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that several Cobra Kai spinoffs are in in the works following the Season 6 finale. 'There are a few balls up in the air. I don't know which one is going to land. I hope all of them do, or some of them do, or one of them does,' Macchio revealed. 'The success of Karate Kid: Legends could propel all that stuff. It's different, but the same. There's a Miyagi-ism for you.' Watch the official trailer for Karate Kid: Legends below.

‘Sinners' director Ryan Coogler teases his ‘scary' X-Files series reboot

With Sinners currently in cinemas, director Ryan Coogler is looking to the future... And it's looking mighty exciting. The acclaimed filmmaker behind Fruitvale Station and the Black Panther franchise had already been rumoured to be taking on the reboot of the beloved TV show The X-Files, but he's now confirmed it's his next project. Coogler appeared on a recent episode of Last Podcast On The Left to discuss his future plans and revealed that the sci-fi drama series is coming. 'I'm working on X-Files. That's what's immediately next,' said Coogler. 'So, I've been excited about that for a long time, and I'm fired up to get back to it, and that, you know, some of those episodes, if we do our jobs right, will be really fucking scary.' Music to our ears, as we're big fans of the original show. When it was announced, the reboot was set to see the franchise move away from the iconic characters Mulder and Scully, played by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. However, it now would appear that Coogler may have other plans for the legendary conspiracy-chasing FBI agents. He shared that he's spoken to Gillian Anderson, and has his 'fingers crossed' that she will potentially return - though it's currently unclear in what capacity. 'She's incredible and fingers crossed there,' he said, explaining that Anderson was finishing up work on Tron: Ares the last time they talked. 'We're going to try to make something really great, bro, and make something for the real 'X-Files' fans and maybe find some new ones.' The X-Files originally ran for nine seasons from September 1993 to May 2002, with tenth and eleventh seasons arriving in 2016 and 2018. In total, 218 episodes were made – with an additional two feature films, The X-Files: Fight the Future (1998) and The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008). Coogler is developing the revival through his overall deal with Walt Disney Television. Chris Carter, the creator of the original series, has stated he is supportive of the reboot even if he isn't involved in the project. In an interview with Inverse in September 2024, Carter said he was 'looking forward to seeing what somebody else does with it." As are we, since Coogler has proven he can breathe new life into existing IPs, with his Rocky reboot (2015's Creed) and the way he handled bring Marvel's Black Panther to the big screen. Both Black Panther (2018) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) are some of the MCU's most critically-acclaimed instalments. Known for his top-notch storytelling, character-driven projects and socially relevant themes, Coogler is a great pick to reimagine The X-Files. Plus, he's shown with Sinners that he can nail horror and tension. The question is whether he'll be bringing his lucky charm Michael B. Jordan with him, as the actor has starred in all his big screen projects to date... Wouldn't that be something? In Sinners, Jordan plays twin brothers who return home to rural Mississippi after a stint hustling for Al Capone in Chicago. They buy a piece of land with an old sawmill from a rumoured Klansman, intent on opening a juke joint. Then, vampires come a'knockin... Coogler intertwines the history of America with the mythology of blues music and vampire lore to create something layered and truly exciting, a film which we called 'one of the best films of the year so far.' In our review, we said: 'Sinners is first and foremost a film about music, specifically the blues. By establishing it as a sort of magical conduit between worlds but also across time, Coogler shows that blues music is not only a precious connection to the past and a reminder of post-slavery resilience but also a future refuge that can be exploited. In one virtuoso sequence, the director literalizes the power of music as a connecting ritual through visual and auditory anachronism; it's an extended sequence destined to be one of 2025's most spellbinding and memorable shots.' Grammy-winning megastar's horror debut branded 'year's worst movie'

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video The horror movie debut of musician and actor The Weeknd has emerged to disappointing returns, taking only $3.3million (£2.4m) in its opening, uh, weeknd in the States. Four-time Grammy Award-winning musician, producer and actor The Weeknd – real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye – stars as a fictionalised version of himself in the psychological thriller Hurry Up Tomorrow. Directed by Trey Edward Shults, it follows the star as he teeters on the brink of a mental breakdown, spurred on by his interactions with a mysterious fan, played by Jenna Ortega. The film, which was co-written by The Weeknd and also stars Barry Keoghan, serves as a companion piece to his 2025 album of the same name. But while the album debuted to strong word of mouth and even better sales, topping the charts in 16 countries, the film hasn't had the same kind of traction. Released in the United States on May 16, it did so to poor reviews and disappointing ticket sales, finishing in sixth place, behind the Final Destination sequel, Sinners and A Minecraft Movie. Since its release, the film has racked up a paltry 13% on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, with The Daily Beast's Nick Schager describing it as an 'ego-stroke of monumental hubris that instantly assumes pole position in the race for year's worst movie.' Ouch. Meanwhile, Inverse described it as 'simply a slog,' while SlashFilm called it 'just awful.' Audiences who had seen the film took to X to share their thoughts, with many describing it as a 'vanity project' and a waste of the talents of all involved. 'hurry up tomorrow movie was so egregiously bad that at one point all 6 people in the theater just started laughing at how stupid it was,' said 444ybwmoi. 'Weeknd vanity project wastes the talent in front of, and behind, the camera,' wrote Twit4java. 'anyway so i watched Hurry Up Tomorrow and what kind of mess what that,' said Rydxr. However, with a 70% Popcornmeter score from fans on Rotten Tomatoes, opinion is far from unified. 'Unpopular opinion, Abel acting as The Weeknd is good and not the problem with Hurry Up Tomorrow,' said JoeDorvil. 'And I hope Abel Tesfaye knows how I'm absolutely proud of him for making his way up to the top for making an outstanding performance on Hurry Up Tomorrow alongside with Jenna Ortega, Barry Keoghan,' agreed XOOFLIFE. 'hurry up tomorrow was a love letter for the FANS. if you're not XO, you're simply not going to get it. abel poured his heart and soul into this movie and his passion for this project is so evident. i thoroughly enjoyed it. if you didn't, you didn't understand. your loss,' said whydtry. The film was inspired by a 2022 incident in which he took to the stage in front of 70,000 film – only to learn that he'd lost his voice. 'I saw my doctor, and he said, 'There's nothing wrong with you — your [vocal cords] are inflamed, but nothing out of the ordinary,' he told Variety of his sudden silence. More Trending 'And that's when we came to the realization that it was all up here. 'My body, and specifically my voice, had never failed me before. I'd been on stage with a high fever, completely sick; I'd been on stage in the middle of a breakup or a death in the family; and I'd lost my voice during a performance. But I was always able to fight through it… I was defeated on the world stage with everyone watching,' the musician revealed. Inspired by this existential crisis, he went on to create Hurry Up Tomorrow, in an attempt to creatively purge his demons, laying them out for all to see… for better and worse. Hurry Up Tomorrow is out in UK cinemas now. Got a story?
