Binghamton Softball splits Friday games at James Madison Invitational
HARRISONBURG, VA. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Binghamton Bearcats Softball team is competing in the James Madison Invitational. They kicked off their Invite with two games on Friday against Fordham and the host Dukes.
Against the Rams, the Bearcats would fall behind 7-1 heading into the 5th inning, but a 2-run 5th and 5-run 6th helped Binghamton to its largest comeback in the program's 24-year NCAA Division-I history. It was helped in-part by a Rachel Carey grand slam.
They would then face the hosts, the James Madison Dukes. The team would fall in a shutout 5-inning mercy loss, 8-0. Brianna Santos led with 2 hits for the Bearcats.
The team is next in action against Radford University at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
