Iraqi archer Abdullah Saad wins silver at Asian Challenge Championship
Baghdad ( – The Iraqi Archery Federation announced today, Saturday, that promising athlete Abdullah Saad won a silver medal at the Asian Challenge Championship for seniors, currently being held in Incheon, South Korea.
A statement from the Iraqi Olympic Committee, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), noted that Saad delivered a distinguished performance and faced strong competition against elite players from various Asian national teams.
Saad Al-Mashhadani, the head of the Iraqi Archery Federation, praised the high level of performance from the Iraqi athletes. He emphasized that the championship featured intense and highly competitive matches, which reflects the sport's development across the Asian continent.
Al-Mashhadani added that the Iraqi national team is continuing its intensive preparations for the World Championship, which will also take place in Incheon this August. He explained that both the technical and administrative staff are working diligently to ensure the players are in optimal condition. The tournament, he said, has revealed a new generation of promising archery talents in Asia, with Abdullah Saad being one of Iraq's most notable rising stars in the sport.
