Head of IMN: Iraqi TV isn't just a technical project, rather a mirror of a nation's history

The head of the Iraqi Media Network – IMN, Karim Hammadi, congratulated the 69th anniversary of the launch of the first television broadcast in Iraq on Friday, emphasizing 'Iraqi TV was not just a technical project, but rather was and remains a mirror of a nation's history.'
"On this day, the Iraqi Media Network commemorates the 69th anniversary of the launch of the first television broadcast in Iraq, which our country witnessed on May 2, 1956, making it one of the first countries in the region to enter the world of television, with a confident step that reflects a civilized awareness, an ambitious national vision, and a civilized precedent in the region,' said Hammadi in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
Hammadi added, "The establishment of Iraqi TV at that time was a shining milestone in the journey of national media, a cultural and enlightening platform that contributed to conveying Iraq's voice and identity domestically and internationally. It played a pivotal role in enhancing community awareness, consolidating the values of national unity, and documenting events and transformations, in addition to embracing artistic and cultural creativity over decades of challenges and achievements."
"Today, as we recall this rich journey of giving, we at the Iraqi Media Network affirm our firm determination to continue developing national media and elevating its content and professionalism, free from bias and deviation. Inspired by the legacy of our pioneers, the spirit of renewal and responsibility. We responsive to the demands of the digital age and the aspirations of our esteemed audiences both at home and abroad," he highlighted.
He noted, "On this precious occasion, we extend our deepest appreciation and gratitude to all the pioneers who contributed to building this venerable media edifice, from broadcasters, directors, technicians, writers, and workers in various disciplines. We remember with gratitude those who have passed away and appreciate the contributions of those who continue to carry on the journey."
