After a busy few weeks, the curtains will come down on the National Hunt season at the Punchestown Festival in early May. The five-day meeting kicks off on Tuesday, April 29 and runs until Saturday, May 3. The biggest names in racing look set to be involved and you'll find all the news, analysis and tips inside your paper throughout the week - so pick a winner with your Irish Mirror at Punchestown! There are a number of big races throughout the week, with the William Hill Champion Chase the feature contest on day one and could see Cheltenham Festival winner Fact To File come down in trip following his awesome victory in the Ryanair Chase. The Ladbrokes Gold Cup takes centre stage on Wednesday, but dual winner Fastorslow unfortunately won't be back to defend his crown having been ruled out for the season a few months ago through injury. But two-time Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Galopin Des Champs, runner-up to Fastorslow at Punchestown the past two years, does look set to run for Willie Mullins after finishing second to Inothewayurthinkin at Cheltenham last month. Owners Robcour could be well represented in the Ladbrokes Champion Stayers' Hurdle on Thursday, with Cheltenham 1-2 Bob Olinger and Teahupoo both likely to line up, while Liverpool Hurdle winner Hiddenvalley Lake is also entered. But the clash of the week could come on Friday if Constitution Hill and State Man collide in the Boodles Champion Hurdle, with Cheltenham winner Golden Ace also entered.
