Citizens against recycling facility to form human chain in Dresden
Dresden is looking to form a human chain, fighting a proposed recycling facility at an old landfill.
Dresden Together is looking to create a human chain from the landfill site in Dresden on Irish School Road into town.
This event is fighting back against the proposed recycling facility.
York1 Environmental Waste Solutions is looking to start up the old landfill and create a regenerative recycling facility.
'It isn't just about our community. Because if this can happen here, there are a lot of other dormant landfills in the province that could end up being in the same position that are bordering on a small community, like Dresden,' said Wendy Vercauteren with Dresden Together.
'They could end up in the same fight that we are.'
It's all set to take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday and the group is calling all supporters to come out and help.
