Police make arrest in deadly shooting outside Ajax GO Station

The victim, 28-year-old Isaiah Little, was found with multiple gunshot wounds outside the station at around 11:30 p.m. on June 22. Police, however, have said that the shooting likely happened sometime between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. In a news release, Durham police confirmed that a suspect was taken into custody on Thursday in connection with the homicide. Clifford Matthew Barras, 33, of Ajax, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder. Police continue to investigate and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Man charged with 2nd-degree murder after shooting at Ajax GO station
Social Sharing A man has been charged with second-degree murder after a shooting at the Ajax GO station on Sunday. Officers arrived at the station parking lot around 11:30 p.m. to assist paramedics, Durham police said in a news release Friday. When they arrived, they found an unconscious man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a trauma centre where he was pronounced dead. Police previously identified the victim as Isaiah Little, 28, from Ajax. The shooting was the fourth homicide in Durham Region this year, police said. The accused, 33, who is from Ajax, was arrested and charged on Thursday, the news release said. He was held for a bail hearing. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

The Ajax man was found unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds in the GO station parking lot of Westney Rd. S. — south of Hwy. 401 — around 11:30 p.m. He was rushed to a trauma centre in Toronto where he succumbed to his injuries. 'Police continue to search for an outstanding suspect and are appealing to anyone with video footage, including dashcam or (security camera) video to please come forward,' Const. Emily Mitchell said in a statement released Wednesday. 'Specifically, anyone with video footage between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., as it is believed the shooting happened during this time.' While not much is know about Little, a man with the same name and age was in the news about 16 months ago when he was accused of assaulting two men while they were fishing in Duffins Creek — near Church St. S. and Hwy. 401 — in Pickering in the early hours of March 3, 2024. 'A male residing in a tent nearby approached the victims while brandishing a knife and making threats,' Durham cops alleged in a news release at the time, claiming the knife-wielding man 'pushed one of the males into the creek.' RECOMMENDED VIDEO The victims were not physically injured, police added. The Isaiah Little who was allegedly involved in that incident was 26 years old at the time. He was charged with assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats. The outcome of those charges is unknown. And the Toronto Sun was unable to confirm the Isaiah Little who was murdered on Sunday is the same Isaiah Little who was accused in the 2024 assault.
