‘Shah Rukh Khan was very rude on my first day, it hurt my ego,' recalls Dipshikkha Nagppal: ‘I was in love with him, took it as a challenge'

Shah Rukh Khan was the biggest movie star in India after Aditya Chopra's 1995 film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and an entire generation of women described themselves as his fans. So much so that they often believed that they were in love with him because of his on screen image, and same was the case with actor Dipshikkha Nagppal. In a recent interview, Dipshikkha shared that she was in love with his image as Raj from DDLJ so when she worked with him for the first time in Rakesh Roshan's Koyla, she found him to be a bit rude. His comment about her acting capabilities left her hurt and she saw it as a challenge to prove that she was actually good at her job. In a chat with Instant Bollywood, Dipshikkha shared that when she was cast in Koyla, she was 'in love with Shah Rukh Khan.' She recalled that the first time she met him on the set of the film, she was nervous. 'My first scene was that I am dying in his arms. So I was nervous wondering how it will happen,' she recalled and added that when he arrived on set, Rakesh praised her in front of the star. 'When Shah Rukh came, he was smoking. So Rakesh ji came in and said, 'Do you know Dipshikkha?' He said, 'She is a fantastic actress.' Rakesh ji was very impressed with me. Shah Rukh said, 'Yeah, let's see.' It hurt my ego. He was so rude. I was like, 'This is Shah Rukh. I love him.' Then I took it as a challenge,' she shared. Dipshikkha said that she proceeded to do the scene, which was ultimately edited out of the film and shared, 'I remember the scene. I can still smell his aura.' 'Ratan Jain (producer) told me after Baadshah that Shah Rukh recommended my name. Shah Rukh never revealed it. That's his greatness,' she said. Dipshikkha shared that she worked with Shah Rukh Khan in other films as well but she always maintained a distance, even though they became friendly on set. 'Later, we became friends but I would only pay attention to my work. I would work with dedication and maybe, he noticed that but he recommended me for Baadshah. I didn't know that,' she said and added, 'I said, 'Thank you, Shah Rukh that you said let's see' because had he not said it, then maybe I wouldn't be in that film.' Dipshikkha was last seen in the web series Raisinghani VS Raisinghani, and the television show Ishq Jabariya. She has appeared in films like Partner, Jaanam Samjha Karo, Dillagi among others.

Exclusive - Dipshikkha Naggpal visits Jim Corbett, Rishikesh, says the trip was all about adventure, relaxation, and unplugging from daily chaos

All she needs is a few days, and actress Dipshikkha Naggpal is off on another exciting and adventurous holiday. This time, she chose Jim Corbett and says that she had an amazing time there. The actress, who has been part of films such as Koyla, Baadshah, Dillagi and Partner, and shows such as Son Pari, Santoshi Maa, Phir Laut Aayi Naagin, and the current Ishq Jabariya , says that while she loves her work, she longs for such breaks. 'The minute I got to know my track got over in Ishq Jabariya, the very next day I left. My friend Rishina, who's a wildlife photographer, always told me, 'Come to the jungle,' and I'd say, 'I can't leave the shoot.' As soon as my shoot ended and she was headed to Jim Corbett, I said, 'I'm joining you.' I also wanted to visit Rishikesh , so we planned both,' she says. She adds, 'I've been to Masai Mara—that's the best safari I've done—but I still want to explore. I'm very experienced in nature, very spiritual, and I believe nature heals you. Getting up at 4 a.m., going for a safari, staying quiet, listening to birds chirping—it's beautiful. We did four safaris; I went for three and saw a tiger.' It was her first Indian safari, she says, adding, 'After that, I went to Rishikesh. I did river rafting , jumped in the middle of the Ganga—I'm not a great swimmer, but I wanted to overcome my fear. I also attended the Ganga Aarti and went for meditation.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Where Rajasthani Heritage Meets Chennai's Heart The Royal Chtiran Contact Us Undo This holiday was very special for the actress. 'The trip was all about adventure, relaxation, and unplugging from the daily chaos. I was getting massages and disconnecting from routine stress. Everybody should do it—I do it regularly, and that's why I am who I am today.' Travelling to Rishikesh was a surreal experience, she says. 'When I was in Rishikesh, my window faced the Ganga River. It was peaceful, overwhelming—tears welled up. It rained the next day, the weather was unpredictable. I went downstairs and began painting. I used to paint in school and college—Umar Khayyam, crochet work, crafts—it was therapy back then, even if we didn't call it that.' Meanwhile, she says that such trips help her to rejuvenate herself. 'The break inspires me. I don't think I can ever retire—I'm not in a government job. These breaks recharge me. I disconnect, go to a different space, reflect on what I want, what I need—I just heal. It's very 'me time' and very important. It relaxes me, and I return to work with more energy. I always give 200%, but these breaks help. We don't have a 9–5 job or weekends off. Sometimes there's a shoot, sometimes not—so we have to make the most of the time we get.' Deepshikha Nagpal reveals about her pandemic mom

Kamya Panjabi on Operation Sindoor: This is a fight between humanity and terrorism

As Operation Sindoor became a topic of national discussion, Kamya Panjabi , shared an emotional and heartfelt response. Kamya shared how the news shook her to the core and filled her with pride. She said, 'When I woke up this morning, like always, the first thing I did was call my husband. I had no idea what had happened. He told me that India had attacked terrorist camps . Then he said, 'The operation is called Operation Sindoor.' The moment I heard about it, my throat choked up and I started crying. It felt like justice had finally been done. There was a deep sense of peace. We Indians are emotional people — we don't always get into politics, but we feel everything with our hearts. When someone speaks with love, we give our hearts in return. But when someone attacks our country and kills innocent people, it becomes important to give a strong reply. We will not tolerate terrorism . We will strike back.' The 'Ishq Jabariya' actress further stated, 'This issue has been going on for years — sometimes there's conflict, then talk of peace. But how can peace be possible if terrorist camps still exist in your country? And if you're offering friendship while supporting these camps, that's not true friendship. Today, some people are raising slogans against India, threatening us. But all we did was target a terrorist camp — we didn't harm innocent civilians. Every human being — whether Indian, Pakistani, Hindu, Muslim or from any religion — should stand together against terrorism. This was not a strike against civilians but against terrorists. That's why I feel proud and emotional. Our Indian Army and government have done a great job. I hope such attacks never happen again, but this response was needed.' Speaking about the mock drills, she said, 'The mock drills happening across the country are also very important. Most common people don't know how to handle such situations unless they've lived in places like Kashmir or come from an Army background. These drills should continue, and more people should take part. It's good that we're becoming more aware.' She also spoke about the need for India to respond to terrorism, 'Some people are now saying that war will begin. But what did they expect — that we would stay silent after terrorists killed our people on our own land? Of course, we had to respond. And if that leads to something bigger, so be it. We must stay united as Indians and stand firmly against terrorism. This is not a war between India and Pakistan — it's a fight between humanity and terrorism.'

Ishq Jabariya Actress Kamya Panjabi on Akshay Tritiya: I personally don't limit new beginnings to a particular date

Akshay Tritiya is considered an auspicious day in Hindu culture , known for bringing good luck, prosperity , and success. It's a time when people buy gold , start new ventures, or engage in spiritual practices . Kamya Panjabi , who plays the character of Mohini in the TV show Ishq Jabariya , shares her take on this special day. Kamya shares a powerful message on embracing new beginnings with courage and a clear heart, 'Akshay Tritiya is often considered one of the most auspicious days to begin something new—whether it's buying something special, taking a big leap, or making a life decision. While I personally don't limit new beginnings to a particular date or muhurat, I deeply respect those who find strength and positivity in such traditions. I believe that every day is a good day if your intentions are pure and your heart is ready. What's truly important is to not postpone your dreams out of fear or hesitation. Taking the first step—no matter how small—holds immense power. A fresh start doesn't need a perfect day; it needs your courage and belief in yourself.' The Ishq Jabariya actress further adds, 'I believe in taking bold steps. Whenever the heart feels like doing something new—whether it's chasing a passion, starting a new project, or buying something meaningful—we should just go for it. Life moves fast, and waiting for the 'right moment' often becomes an excuse. What matters more is the intent and the action, not the date on the calendar. So to everyone who celebrates, may this Akshay Tritiya bring courage, abundance, and fresh beginnings. And to those who don't follow the tradition—still take this moment as a gentle nudge to start something you've been holding back. After all, the best time to begin is always now.'
