‘Shah Rukh Khan was very rude on my first day, it hurt my ego,' recalls Dipshikkha Nagppal: ‘I was in love with him, took it as a challenge'

Shah Rukh Khan was the biggest movie star in India after Aditya Chopra's 1995 film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and an entire generation of women described themselves as his fans. So much so that they often believed that they were in love with him because of his on screen image, and same was the case with actor Dipshikkha Nagppal. In a recent interview, Dipshikkha shared that she was in love with his image as Raj from DDLJ so when she worked with him for the first time in Rakesh Roshan's Koyla, she found him to be a bit rude. His comment about her acting capabilities left her hurt and she saw it as a challenge to prove that she was actually good at her job.
In a chat with Instant Bollywood, Dipshikkha shared that when she was cast in Koyla, she was 'in love with Shah Rukh Khan.' She recalled that the first time she met him on the set of the film, she was nervous. 'My first scene was that I am dying in his arms. So I was nervous wondering how it will happen,' she recalled and added that when he arrived on set, Rakesh praised her in front of the star.
'When Shah Rukh came, he was smoking. So Rakesh ji came in and said, 'Do you know Dipshikkha?' He said, 'She is a fantastic actress.' Rakesh ji was very impressed with me. Shah Rukh said, 'Yeah, let's see.' It hurt my ego. He was so rude. I was like, 'This is Shah Rukh. I love him.' Then I took it as a challenge,' she shared. Dipshikkha said that she proceeded to do the scene, which was ultimately edited out of the film and shared, 'I remember the scene. I can still smell his aura.'

Dipshikkha Nagppal shared that even though their start wasn't great, they later became friends, and he even recommended her name for the Abbas Mustan film, Baadshah. 'Ratan Jain (producer) told me after Baadshah that Shah Rukh recommended my name. Shah Rukh never revealed it. That's his greatness,' she said.
Dipshikkha shared that she worked with Shah Rukh Khan in other films as well but she always maintained a distance, even though they became friendly on set. 'Later, we became friends but I would only pay attention to my work. I would work with dedication and maybe, he noticed that but he recommended me for Baadshah. I didn't know that,' she said and added, 'I said, 'Thank you, Shah Rukh that you said let's see' because had he not said it, then maybe I wouldn't be in that film.'
Dipshikkha was last seen in the web series Raisinghani VS Raisinghani, and the television show Ishq Jabariya. She has appeared in films like Partner, Jaanam Samjha Karo, Dillagi among others.

Kajol Bashes Paparazzi Culture, Calls Them ‘Disrespectful, Disturbing'

Last Updated: Kajol criticized paparazzi for invading personal space, especially at funerals and private moments. She finds it disturbing to be followed. Celebrities have often spoken out about how the paparazzi cross the line. Now, Kajol has also shared her own thoughts. In a recent interview, she opened up about how uncomfortable it feels when photographers don't respect personal space. When asked what she would change about the paparazzi culture, Kajol told Bollywood Hungama, 'I am a little conscious with paps. I think there are certain places where they shouldn't be. Like I find it very strange when they run after actors at someone's funeral and ask for photos. I find that odd and a little disrespectful. I find it strange that you cannot even go for lunch." She also spoke about how unsettling it is to be followed. 'They follow you for kilometres from Juhu to Bandra to look where I am going and which building I am going to. I find that disturbing. If I were a normal person, would you do that? Wouldn't I have taken you to the cops and said this person is following me? What should I tell the cops now?" she said. Kajol isn't the only one feeling this way. Alia Bhatt had earlier called out paps for taking photos of her while she was at home. Actor Rana Daggubati also had a run-in with photographers at the airport after one of them accidentally bumped into him. Meanwhile, Kajol is getting ready for her next film Maa, a horror drama directed by Vishal Furia and backed by Devgn Films. She plays the lead role, and the story follows a mother trying to protect her daughter from an evil curse in a haunted village. The film also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma. It's set to release in theatres on June 27. Kajol, the daughter of veteran actress Tanuja and filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee, stepped into the world of films with Bekhudi in 1992 while she was still in school. She later chose to leave her studies to pursue acting full-time. Her early successes came with hit films like Baazigar (1993) and Yeh Dillagi (1994). Kajol became one of the most popular stars of the 1990s thanks to iconic romantic films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), both of which also won her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Apart from romance, she impressed critics with intense performances in Gupt: The Hidden Truth (1997), where she played a psychopathic killer, and Dushman (1998), where she took on the role of a woman seeking revenge. Kajol says NO to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge sequel with Shah Rukh Khan: 'Nobody wants to know if they fought over diapers or not'

Kajol has expressed her views on potential sequels to her iconic films, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, stating that some love stories are best left untouched. She believes the magic of DDLJ lies in its perfect ending, while recreating the eternal love of KKHH would be challenging in today's world. Kajol is setting the record straight on sequels to her classic films. As she gears up for the release of her upcoming horror film Maa, the actress shared her candid and hilarious take on the idea of a Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge or Kuch Kuch Hota Hai sequel—revealing why some love stories are better left untouched. In a chat with Pinkvilla, Kajol was asked about the possibility of a sequel to the iconic 1995 film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, in which she starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan . While she admitted she'd love the idea in theory, Kajol humorously confessed that she simply can't imagine a DDLJ 2 happening. The actress explained her stance with a touch of humor, saying that every film carries its own magic, and DDLJ was no different. She joked that no one really wants to know what happened after the iconic train scene—whether the couple ended up arguing over mundane things like diapers. For her, the magic lies in leaving that fairytale ending untouched. She also added that the beauty of DDLJ lies in its ending, calling it 'brilliant' that the story wraps up as the train leaves. She believes it's best left to the audience's imagination—preserving the magic of 'happily ever after' without delving into what happens next. When asked about the possibility of a Kuch Kuch Hota Hai sequel, Kajol, who starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the film, reflected on how it belonged to a different era—one where audiences believed deeply in eternal love. Kajol explained that Kuch Kuch Hota Hai worked so well because it was set in a different time, with characters and a world where people truly believed in once-in-a-lifetime, eternal love. She noted that in today's world, with changing belief systems, it would be difficult to recreate a story with the same emotional depth and conviction. Kajol is all set for the release of Maa, a mythological horror film directed by Vishal Furia , hitting theatres on June 27, 2025. Co-starring Ronit Roy and Indraneil Sengupta, the film serves as a spin-off to Ajay Devgn 's 2024 supernatural thriller Shaitaan.
