HM King approves Sunni and Ja'afari Endowments reform

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree (28) of 2025 amending certain provisions of Decree (6) of 1985 regarding the organisation of the Sunni and Ja'afari Endowments Council and their administration, based on a proposal by the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments and following the approval of the Cabinet. According to the decree, Article 8 of Decree (6) of 1985 shall be replaced with: 'Each of the two general endowments directorates shall be headed by a Director General who is not a member of either council, and shall be appointed by Royal Decree. The Director General shall oversee administrative and financial affairs within the directorate, prepare the council's agenda in coordination with the council chairman, and serve as secretary to the council personally or through a designated employee. The Director General shall not have voting rights in council deliberations but shall be responsible for implementing its decisions.' The term 'General Directorate of Endowments' shall replace 'Directorate of Endowments' in Article 4 of Decree (6) of 1985. The term 'two General Directorates of Endowments' shall replace 'Directorates of the Sunni and Ja'afari Endowments Councils' in Article 7 of the same decree. The term 'General Directorate of Endowments' shall replace 'Directorate' in Article 11 of the same decree. Article 10 of Decree (6) of 1985 shall be repealed. The Prime Minister and the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments shall implement the provisions of this decree, which takes effect upon issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.

Justice Ministry urges pilgrims to obtain official permits

The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments emphasised the importance of complying with the laws and regulations issued by the High Committee for Hajj and Umrah Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The ministry underlined that travel to perform Hajj requires an official permit issued by the relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia. It warned that failure to obtain such a permit may result in strict penalties. The ministry also urged citizens not to respond to misleading advertisements or unlicensed campaigns that falsely claim to offer permits, reiterating that Hajj travel must only be arranged through approved official channels. It confirmed that only pilgrims registered with licensed Bahraini Hajj campaigns who have completed registration procedures and received official permits are authorised to travel for Hajj. HM King approves Bahrain-Hungary investment deal

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ratified and issued Law (19) of 2025, approving the agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Government of Hungary on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments, following its endorsement by the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives. According to the law, the agreement was signed in Manama on September 4, 2024. HM King Hamad ratified and issued Law (18) of 2025 approving the agreement to amend the framework agreement for financing the second phase of the project to improve water transmission and distribution from Al Dur station, following its approval by the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives. According to the law, the agreement was signed on July 9, 2024. HM the King issued Decree (23) of 2025 amending Article (I) of Decree (50) of 2023 restructuring the justice and Islamic affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments. His Majesty issued Decree (25) of 2025, appointing a General Director at the Ministry of Interior. HM King Hamad issued Decree (24) of 2025 appointing an Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, based on the proposal of the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments and following the HM the King approval of the Cabinet.

40 Mosques Opened and Renovated During Ramadhan Following Crown Prince's Directives

Manama: Following the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, 40 mosques opened, renovated during Ramadhan. The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments announced the completion of 40 mosque openings, renovations, and upgrades across the Kingdom of Bahrain during Ramadhan. According to Bahrain News Agency, the initiative was carried out following the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and under the royal care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for places of worship. Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, noted the importance of preserving the religious and social role of mosques, highlighting the leadership's commitment to their upkeep and expansion. He stated that the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister during the month of Ramadhan, now in their fourth consecutive year, have accelerated progress in developing houses of worship across the Kingdom. Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futtais Al Hajeri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, and Yusuf bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Jaafari Endowments Council, both expressed appreciation for the leadership's continued support for the maintenance and development of mosques across all governorates. Newly opened mosques include Mohammed bin Mohammed Ahmadi Mosque and Abdullah Nass Mosque in East Hidd, Al Watya Mosque in Saar, Ahmad Mohammed Ali Al Yousra Mosque in Dair, Zainal Mosque in Hamad Town, and Mariam Mosque in North Riffa. Foundation stones were laid for Lulwa bint Abdulaziz Al Ali Al Bassam Mosque in northern Riffa and Yusuf bin Ahmed bin Ali Kanoo Mosque in Salman City. Renovated mosques include Manar Al Huda, Al Awadhi, Shaikh Mansour, Shaikh Ahmed, Widad Yaqoob Al Muftah, Omar bin Abdulaziz, Abu Loif, Ras Rumman Grand Mosque, Haj Ibrahim Hassan Kamal, Al Nasr, Zain Al Abidin, Mohammed Al Touq, Sayed Abduljalil, Yaqoob Al Nafisi, Shaikh Mohammed, Shaikh Ibrahim (Al Abreeq), Ahmed bin Ajlan, Suhaib Al Rumi, Al Khidr, Al Muntadhar, Shaikh Salman, Shaikh Al Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, Amir Al Mu'minin, Imam Ali, Fatima, Al Tarajneh, Abu Talib, New A'ali Grand Mosque, Sayeda Zainab, Al Watya (Zinj), Imam Hassan, and Shaikh Yaseen.

40 mosques opened, renovated and upgraded

Forty mosques across the Kingdom of Bahrain have been opened, renovated and upgraded during Ramadhan. This was announced by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments.
