Did Sirens' Michaela Murder Peter's Ex-Wife? Plus, More Finale Revelations
The following contains major spoilers from Episode 5 of Sirens, now streaming on Netflix. Since Sirens Episode 1, we've been suspicious of Michaela: Is she running a cult? Did she murder her husband's ex-wife? Well, the finale answered these questions — and more! Let's recap. More from TVLine Dave Nemetz Reviews Sirens: Netflix's Jumbled Soap Takes Us on a Luxury Trip to Nowhere — Now, YOU Grade It! What to Watch in May: Your Guide to 130+ Premieres Across Broadcast, Cable and Streaming Casting News: Josh Hartnett's Netflix Series, Wilson Bethel's Apple Gig and More We begin by following up on the literal Episode 4 cliffhanger, which saw Ethan (played by It's Always Sunny's Glenn Howerton) plunging off a cliff, leaving viewers wondering whether he lived or died. Well, turns out, the man lived! He's beaten up, but not so badly that he can't accuse Simone (House of the Dragon's Milly Alcock) of attempted murder; he says his near-fiancée pushed him off the ledge. It's unclear whether Ethan is telling the truth, and he seems to be suffering some sort of delusion once he accuses Simone of having wings. (Or, maybe there is some mythological element at play here — the show is called Sirens, after all.) The finale ties up another loose end from Episode 4: What will Michaela (Mary & George's Julianne Moore) do now that she knows Simone shared a secret kiss with her husband Peter (City on a Hill's Kevin Bacon)? Because the woman is ruthless, Michaela promptly packs up all of Simone's belongings and fires her, causing the woman to completely malfunction. Simone goes nonverbal and enters a sort of fugue state to cope. When Devon (The White Lotus' Meghann Fahy) discovers that Michaela has let her sister go, she confronts the guru at the big gala. She publicly accuses Michaela of running a cult and of killing Peter's ex-wife. That's when Michaela 'fesses up to the truth: She did not kill Peter's former wife. The ex is simply living on an island as a recluse after receiving botched, post-divorce plastic surgery. But the question remains: What is going on here? Is Michaela running a cult? Who is cultivating all these creepy vibes at the estate? Turns out, it's kind of Peter — he is more evil than he previously seemed. The man is a master manipulator and decides he's over his marriage to Michaela, throwing her away in an instant, like she means nothing at all. He immediately trades his wife in for a younger, hotter version: Simone. She was the siren all along. Upon seeing her sister so easily betray a so-called beloved friend, Devon has an epiphany. She realizes her strength has always been her ability to stick by people, to never leave them behind. She decides she will stay at home with her father to care for him alone. She and Michaela then bond over the weirdness that just occurred during their ferry ride back to reality. Were your questions answered in the finale? Hit the comments with your thoughts! Even Stevens fans STUNNED at shocking transformation of beloved actor
Even Stevens star Steven Anthony Lawrence has shocked fans with his transformation almost two decades after appearing on the beloved kids' show. The 34-year-old actor, who played Bernard 'Beans' Aranguren in the adored Disney Channel show, has stunned the internet after appearing in a series of videos shared far and wide on social media. In one clip, Lawrence danced to a track by DeVon True and Que Tha Poet with his shirt off in a car park. Standing at 5ft1, Lawrence seemed in high spirits as he thrusted his hips and raised his arms to the sky. 'The year is 2025 and this is Beans from Even Stevens,' the caption across the clip read, despite being uploaded to TikTok in October. Taking to the comments, one uneasy user said: 'I don't know how I feel about this.' Another said: 'This feels illegal idk how to explain.' 'I know it doesn't even compute in my brain,' a third agreed. Another added: 'I'm so annoyed that this is exactly where I imagined Beans going. That or space.' 'He kinda looks like he teaches high school Math or English,' commented a fifth. Referring to the sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, a sixth said: 'They gotta get him on Sunny.' In another clip shared in February, Lawrence appeared alongside artist DeVon True in another music video. This time, the pair danced side by side in a car park. Lawrence found fame when he bagged a recurring role alongside Shia LaBeouf on the Disney Channel original series Even Stevens in 2001. On the show, Lawrence played Beans, the Stevens' extremely annoying neighbor, who comes into their home uninvited, makes himself at home, and refuses to leave. Beans' love of bacon was a recurring theme in the comedy and in one episode, titled Little Mr. Sacktown, his character even visits a bacon shack. His character eventually turned into a sidekick for Louis, played by LaBeouf, and Twitty's schemes, with him usually double-crossing the two. A.J. Trauth played Twitty. Lawrence starred in a grand total of 22 episodes. He also starred in The Even Stevens Movie before he departed the series in 2003. Later that year he enjoyed a role in the Steve Martin film Cheaper by the Dozen. He went on to land roles in popular television shows such as Married... with Children, The Amanda Show and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch all before the age of 10. Lawrence also starred in well-known series including Frasier, ER, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and That's So Raven. He then appeared in several other movies including Rebound in 2005, Bratz in 2007, and Archie's Final Project in 2009. Lawrence's last movie appearance was in Holly, Jingles and Clyde 3D, in 2013. He played Jingles. Lawrence has also appeared in various TV commercials. In 2011, he portrayed a pink elf in the T-Mobile holiday advertisement, and in 2012, he wore a dog costume for an Old Spice commercial. The actor is fairly active on social media and posts regularly on Instagram - where he has 4,874 followers. He also hosted a podcast with his former Even Stevens costars Christy Carlson Romano - who played Ren Stevens - and Nick Spano - who played Donnie Stevens - for several months last year. The trio reunited for the first time in years to revisit the wacky world of Even Stevens every Thursday, where they would re-watch an episode of the show, share behind-the-scenes stories as well as inside jokes, and reminisce about their time on set. They also spoke about their lives since being on the show, and the impact that Even Stevens has had on them. In a July 2023 episode, Lawrence confessed that he almost 'went to Disney jail' when he was younger because he and his girlfriend at the time were 'getting a little hot and frisky' while in the Haunted Mansion attraction. More recently, Lawrence has been showing off his teeth on Instagram after a visit to Dr. Jonathan Gabai in Beverly Hills where he got himself a 'new smile.' In a 2021 interview with Vice, Lawrence opened up about why he had been sporting a missing tooth before investing in his dazzling new smile. 'I was taking care of a friend's big ol' fish. I was right next to this thing going, "Here fishy, fishy, fishy," and this stupid thing kind of splashed and startled me, and I went forward into the [tank] and chipped my damn tooth,' he explained. 'It's extremely embarrassing.' In the past, Lawrence has also opened up about his addiction to drugs and alcohol. He has been sober since 2019. He also speaks at high schools warning students about the dangers of substance abuse.

Rob McElhenney admits 'tragic flaw' awaits Wrexham after Championship promotion
Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney has been left saddened by a significant downside to the club's rapid rise through the divisions as the Red Dragons prepare for the Championship Rob McElhenney has pointed out a "tragic flaw" in Wrexham 's stunning rise through the football pyramid. The Red Dragons have soared to three consecutive promotions under the stewardship of McElhenney and co-owner Ryan Reynolds. Since taking over the club in February 2021, the Hollywood pair have poured in considerable funds, propelling them from the National League all the way to the Championship. Phil Parkinson's squad have just concluded their partying after being whisked away to Las Vegas for an all-expenses-paid celebration following their latest promotion from League One. As focus shifts to the next campaign, McElhenney has raised concerns about the downside of the Welsh side's remarkable progress. Wrexham are anticipated to make some major signings this summer as they aim to recruit the right players to secure their status in the second tier. It follows McElhenney reiterating his goal of taking Wrexham to Premier League glory. The creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia said that reaching that pinnacle could sadly involve parting ways with several players who were central to the club's recent triumphs and confessed to feeling emotionally conflicted. "It's brutal and the system that I was celebrating, of promotion and relegation, there's a tragic flaw in that," McElhenney told the Men in Blazers podcast. "Very often, the players who are helping the club achieve that goal and winning are winning themselves out of a job. "That's tragic because they're giving everything that they can to help you win, and then their reward for that is to be let go as someone else takes their place and we are very cognizant of that. Another thing that's brutal, but I understand why, is how quickly Phil and every team has to make these decisions. "It's actually quite humane, though, because it gives people the opportunity to go and find other clubs. But we come back from Vegas, and I think within a couple of weeks, Phil will have made those calls and spoken to those guys being released." Wrexham supporters may feel a pang of sadness as they await the club's retained list, having already said goodbye to several stalwarts last summer, such as Luke Young and Ben Tozer. It follows speculation about the future of star striker Paul Mullin, who has been conspicuously absent from the squad since January. McElhenney first pledged to propel Wrexham into the top flight around four years ago, with his declaration initially met with scepticism. When asked about other people's opinions on his high-flying aspirations, McElhenney stood firm and said: "I just don't give a f***". Wrexham AFC is the arguably the fastest-growing club in the world at the moment thanks to a certain Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The Dragons have achieved two consecutive promotions and are cheered on by crowds from not only North Wales but also from all over the globe, thanks to the success of the Disney+ documentary 'Welcome to Wrexham'. But does it have a dedicated, quality source of information piped through to your inbox each week, free of ads but packed with informed opinion, analysis and even a little bit of fun each week? That's where Wrexham is the Game steps in... Available every Wednesday, it provides all the insights you need to be a top red. And for a limited time, a subscription to 'Wrexham is the Game' will cost fans just £15 for the first year. "People would laugh when we would say that, especially members of the press," he said. "But fans and lots of people would laugh and I always found that fascinating. I never got upset about it and I never got a chip on my shoulder about it. "I was confused because I never understood why that would be funny – that's the way that the system is set up. Somebody else set up the system so that you could theoretically take a team and bring them up to the top. Why would you set up the system if you didn't believe that it could be done? "Teams have proved that before, so I've always found it interesting and not offensive that people would laugh at that goal. I don't hear them laughing as loud now as they did four years ago, but they probably still are somewhere in the world. I just don't give a f***."
