Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's Welsh translator is to receive a top Welsh honour.
Broadcaster and journalist Maxine Hughes will be honoured by Gorsedd Cymru at this year's National Eisteddfod in Wrexham county.
Hughes, originally from Conwy, is well known for being the official translator and poking fun at the two Wrexham FC owners in television show Welcome to Wrexham.
The Gorsedd of the Bards is an association made up of people who have made a distinguished contribution to the Welsh nation, the language, and its culture.

Hughes, who previously worked for BBC News and now lives in Washington DC, flew out to Los Angeles and landed the part of the "official Welsh translator" for the television series.
She features in a video acting as a disgruntled translator who makes her opinion clear of Deadpool star Reynolds and McElhenney, who starred in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
She ignores what they say and then provides her own commentary on the pair in Welsh, as the subtitles reveal to the audience.
Also receiving a blue robe for services to the nation will be Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth.
Ap Iorwerth worked as a journalist and broadcaster for the BBC before being elected as a Senedd member for Anglesey in 2013.
Journalist and broadcaster Dewi Llwyd will also receive the honour at this year's festival.
Llwyd, from Bangor, has reported in Welsh on some of the biggest news stories in Wales and the world for nearly half a century.
He has been the face of S4C's election programmes and has presented the channel's main news programme along with the discussion show "Pawb a'i Farn" for many years.
Actor Mark Lewis Jones, from Rhosllanerchrugog, Wrexham, will also receive an honour.
He has appeared in series such as The Crown, Game of Thrones, and is also known for his roles in films such as "Star Wars: Episode VIII" and "The Far Side of the World".

Hazy fog descends over Dayton; air quality alert issued

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — As smoke from wildfires in Canada descends into the Miami Valley, local residents are feeling the difference in air quality. An air quality alert was issued for several counties across the Miami Valley Tuesday, as Canadian wildfire smoke and high temperatures make the skies hazy across Dayton. Canadian wildfires sending smoke into parts of Midwest, including Ohio Local residents tell 2 NEWS the difference in air quality is noticeable, and for people with health issues that affect their lungs, this can create some serious breathing problems. Courtney Hughes said he usually takes his dog for daily walks as part of his recovery program at Marathon Medical in Dayton. 'I usually bring her for an hour walk every day. I'll walk her from here to the bridge,' said Hughes. 'Today, the way the air quality is, it's hard to get a deep breath in. It feels like something's clogged up, every time I breathe in.' Hughes says he has a hard time breathing when he goes outside on days with air quality alerts. Storm Team 2 forecast: Warmer today, with more hazy sunshine and an Air Quality Alert People like Hughes with lung illnesses, as well as older adults and young children, are at risk from pollutants in the hazy fog, which can be caused by pollen, broken down fire products and dust. 'The humidity and everything is heavy right now, so hard to breathe,' said David Glover, a Dayton resident. Weather officials say that it is best to be informed about how your local area is being impacted by these kinds of alerts, adding that this is only the beginning of wildfire season. The Miami Valley could see more hazy skies and air quality alerts over the next several months. Health experts say it is best to avoid being outside during peak hours of air pollution. Air Quality Alert issued for June 3 Officials recommend coming out during the early morning hours and later evening hours when air quality tends to be improved, especially for groups that are easily impacted. 'Those more sensitive groups, the very young or the very old, they are going to experience a little more difficulty in getting around when the air quality gets like it is today,' said Dr. Roberto Colon, Premier Health's chief medical officer. Experts recommend leaving activities like mowing the grass and filling up your gas tank until the hours when the sun begins to go down, or earlier in the day. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Big Pit charging mine admission is 'wrong'

It is wrong to charge people to enter the Big Pit National Coal Museum, a Senedd report says. The museum in Blaenavon, Torfaen, has started charging £8 per person, with some concessions, on a trial basis until July 2026. But the culture and sport committee says access should remain free on principle and not be a luxury for those who can afford it, calling for better funding for Welsh museums so collections remain free for all. The Welsh government said it was committed to keeping entry to all seven museum sites free, as well as to the national collections, and would consider the report's findings. Tours of Big Pit, one of Amgueddfa Cymru's seven museums, are led by former miners and explore original mine shafts and museums. A sign outside the entrance now states: "Due to financial pressures and funding cuts, from 5 April we will be charging for the underground tour." But Delyth Jewell MS, chair of the Senedd's culture and sports committee, said the tours are "a fundamental part of our national collections, they are part of our national story, and that shouldn't be limiting if people can't afford to access them". The report says the Welsh government has "not fulfilled its responsibility in funding museums adequately", citing a 17% cut in real terms to funding for culture and sport in Wales in the last decade. "We appreciate that it is expensive for Amgueddfa Cymru to provide access to the underground workings at Big Pit," it says. "However, we think this is an argument for the Welsh government to provide an adequate level of funding, not for Amgueddfa Cymru to charge for access." Bygone photos show life in Wales' oldest multi-ethnic community Tom Hanks writes letter backing rural war museum Publicly funded gallery 'turning its back on art' Visitors gave a mixed response to the charge, with Deborah Clubb from Merthyr Tydfil saying: "I think [the fee] would make it something that I wouldn't visit as often, definitely, because it was always a free attraction before and something that you could do as a family without thinking about." Mother-of-six Amy Hughes, from Aberdare, said she took the underground tour several times when it was free. She said: "[The admission fee] does make me not want to take all my kids down there but I do feel it's such good value to be able to go underground and see an actual mine. "It would be good if they did a family ticket." Savannah Knox, visiting from Southern Ontario, said she didn't mind paying because she is used to doing that back home in Canada. She said: "If it's historical or a museum it's usually charged. It helps with the upkeep, right?" Showing her around Wales was Lauren Price from Risca, who said she didn't mind paying the fee "if the money's going back into keeping it up and going". Amgueddfa Cymru said the Big Pit experience extends "far beyond" the underground tour, and the rest of the site remains free. It said it looks forward to continuing working with the Welsh government as they consider the report's findings.
