Why Was the Italian Football Championship Played in Toledo?
Italy's American football league played its championship game on Saturday. In Toledo. Toledo, Ohio. It was as if some American sumo enthusiasts took their show to Tokyo, or an amateur baguette maker tried to set up shop on the streets of Paris. Still, in the state where the National Football League was born, eager Italian part-timers playing for the Ancona Dolphins and the Firenze Guelfi suited up for a game to decide their country's title. And a few thousand Americans turned up in the summer football doldrums between college and N.F.L. seasons and paid to see them. Roma officially announces signing of Gasperini as coach
Rome – Saba: Italian football club Roma announced in an official statement on Friday the signing of Italian Gian Piero Gasperini, the former coach of Atalanta, as a successor to veteran coach Claudio Ranieri. Ranieri, 73, left his position as coach of Roma at the end of last season, having officially announced his retirement from coaching, prompting the capital club's management to search for a new coach. Roma announced that the contract with Gasperini, 67, extends for the next three seasons, until the summer of 2028. Gasperini spent nine years with Atalanta, during which he achieved numerous successes, most notably leading the team to the Europa League title in the 2023-2024 season. It is worth noting that Roma finished last season in fifth place in the Italian Football League with 69 points, securing a spot in next season's Europa League. Rome - Saba: Roma Club returned to the winning track in the Italian Football League through host Venezia, by defeating it with a clean goal, in the 24th round of the "Calcio". According to the (Russia Today) website, with this victory, Roma raised its score to 34 points, but it is still in ninth place in the Italian League standings.
