Carmelo Anthony's Son Kiyan Anthony's Change in Physical Appearance Is Turning Heads
Following in the footsteps of a superstar athlete parent is no small task. We often remember examples of young, emerging talents like Bronny James, son of LeBron James, who are challenged to play in the long shadow set by their superstar parent. Fair or not, we also quickly forget about players like Stephen Curry or Ken Griffey Jr., who far surpassed the sterling careers established by their famous fathers. The legacy left behind by Carmelo Anthony, the 10-time NBA star and 2003 national champion with the Syracuse Orange, will be a challenge for his son, Kiyan Anthony, to overcome. The 18-year-old basketball prodigy will begin his collegiate career soon after committing to join his father's alma mater in November 2024. Anthony is preparing for his freshman year and, on Friday, showed off his game in front of NBA scouts at the Iverson Classic workouts. Pictures and videos were shared on social media from the practice and his new and improved physique caught people's attention. "Boy Got Stronger🔥‼️," commented one fan. "Look like he been in that weight room too 👀," said another. All this translates! Keep stacking days nephew," read one comment. "Bro what is he on?? 😂😂," said one fan. Even the young Anthony shared a comment on the post, saying "reps" about him visiting the gym often. Syracuse is not viewed to be one of the top programs in college basketball, if measured by early releases of ranking lists. The Orange are not featured in top 25 lists by Fox Sports or ESPN. Five-Star Recruit Gets Big News Before Joining John Calipari at Arkansas
John Calipari made an immediate impact in his first season at Arkansas, leading the Razorbacks to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16. After a legendary run at Kentucky, where he won 410 games, Calipari now looks to build a championship-caliber program in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks have not reached the Final Four since 1995, the season after their only national championship. With expectations rising and a passionate fan base behind him, Calipari is assembling a roster capable of contending in the grueling SEC during the 2025–26 campaign. Advertisement One of the biggest highlights of Arkansas' highly touted 2025 recruiting class came over the weekend. Five-star point guard Darius Acuff Jr. delivered an electric performance at the Iverson Classic, scoring 32 points and handing out 11 assists. He was also named the Most Valuable Player of the event. The event, held at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia, features the top high school basketball players in the country and is presented by Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Allen Iverson. Acuff, a dynamic and explosive guard, finished his prep career at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Before that, he starred for two seasons at Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan. Arkansas Razorbacks head coach John Chenault-Imagn Images His resume also includes an outstanding showing at the 2024 FIBA U18 AmeriCup, where he represented Team USA. Acuff averaged 17.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and four assists per game en route to being named the tournament MVP. The U.S. went on to win the gold medal in the event. Advertisement In addition to landing Acuff and a strong freshman class, Calipari has been active in the transfer portal to bolster the Razorbacks' depth and experience. Malique Ewin, a 6-foot-10 forward from Florida State, is joining the program, offering much-needed frontcourt size. Arkansas also added Nick Pringle, a physical forward who previously played for SEC rival South Carolina. With high-level freshmen and proven transfers coming in, Arkansas is poised to take another step forward under Calipari's leadership. MSU commit, 4-star PF Cam Ward stars in Iverson Classic all-star game
MSU commit, 4-star PF Cam Ward stars in Iverson Classic all-star game Future Spartans power forward Cam Ward starred for in the Iverson Classic high school all-star game this past week A future Spartan had a mighty impressive performance in a prominent high school all-star game this past weekend. Four-star power forward and Michigan State signed prospect Cam Ward starred in the Iverson Classic this past weekend. Ward reportedly scored 23 points points on 11-14 shooting from the field, nine rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in the all-star game. Ward was one of the notable players called out in post-game story from the event. Ward is a four-star prospect with a rating of 97.69 in 247Sports' composite score. He ranks as the No. 12 power forward and No. 54 overall prospect in 247Sports' composite rankings for the 2025 class. With Ward starring in the Iverson Classic, it is appearing more and more clear that he'll play a role on the Spartans right away as a true freshman next year. I don't necessarily expect him to start right away (or maybe ever) next season, but he certainly has proven during his recruiting cycle that he has the ability to contribute in some degree next year.
