He added that the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) allocated RM500,000 for the construction of Laman MADANI, while the pedestrian walkway, also costing RM500,000, was managed by the Seremban City Council (MBS).

Kita MADANI X program strengthens govt-community ties in Negeri Sembilan
NILAI: The Kita MADANI X Satellite Carnival serves as a key platform to promote the Negeri Sembilan-level Program MADANI Rakyat (PMR). The event, organised by the Department of Information (JAPEN) and the Performance Leap Coordination Unit (PACU), will run from Aug 22 to 24 at Dataran Nilai. Negeri Sembilan Local Government Development, Housing, and Transport Committee Chairman J. Arul Kumar highlighted the program's community-focused activities. Residents participated in a Subuh prayer at Masjid Al-Azim, followed by aerobics, a three-kilometer Fun Walk, and a communal cooking event at Taman Semarak. Exhibitions by government agencies, service counters, and Rahmah sales were also featured to inform the public about policies. Arul Kumar emphasised the carnival's role in fostering unity and inclusivity among Negeri Sembilan's residents. He described the event as a bridge for accurate information exchange between the government and the people. Strengthening this relationship benefits both parties, with the public gaining services and the government receiving feedback. The program aligns with Malaysia MADANI's vision of community empowerment and national unity. The Negeri Sembilan PMR, themed 'Digital Across Generations, Empowering the Community,' supports the government's digitalisation goals. This initiative aims to enhance quality of life through technology while upholding social justice. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to officiate the event, with over 25,000 attendees anticipated. - Bernama

394 MyKiosk units occupied in Negeri Sembilan, says state exco
SEREMBAN: A total of 394 out of 426 MyKiosk units in Negeri Sembilan have been occupied, with prices ranging from RM15,000 to RM25,000 based on specifications and facilities. State Local Government Development, Housing and Transport Committee chairman J. Arul Kumar shared the update in the State Legislative Assembly. Seremban recorded the highest occupancy with 130 units, followed by Kuala Pilah (68), Tampin (58), Jempol (50), Rembau (47), Jelebu (38), and Port Dickson (35). Arul Kumar noted that the remaining units remain vacant due to unsuitable locations. 'The remaining MyKiosk units have not been taken up due to unsuitable locations. That is why I have asked the relevant local authorities to relocate them to more appropriate areas so that traders can use them,' he said. He added that some traders who secured units have yet to start operations. Authorities will reclaim these units and reallocate them to interested entrepreneurs. The statement came in response to Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker's (PN-Labu) query on MyKiosk availability and pricing. When asked by Datuk Saiful Yazan Sulaiman (BN-Johol) about redesigning units to reflect local identity, Arul Kumar said the current design follows national standards but future modifications may be considered. - Bernama

Negeri Sembilan bans alcohol in public recreational spaces
SEREMBAN — Negeri Sembilan has banned the consumption of alcoholic beverages in public recreational spaces such as parks, playgrounds, fields and beaches with immediate effect. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the decision is aimed at respecting the sensitivities of the public who use these areas for leisure and recreation. Enforcement will be conducted by local authorities and police, with a maximum fine of up to RM2,000. 'We have received many complaints about individuals consuming alcohol in these areas and leaving behind bottles and other packaging. 'We are not prohibiting alcohol consumption entirely. People can still drink at shops or in private premises, just not in these public spaces,' he said after chairing the state executive council meeting today. Meanwhile, Local Government Development, Housing, and Transportation Committee chairman J. Arul Kumar said complaints received included disturbances caused by noise, fights and discarded broken alcohol bottles. 'There have been incidents where children and members of the public were injured. We have many fields, playgrounds, parks and beaches meant for recreation and relaxation. But when these places are used as drinking spots, people no longer want to go there,' he said. — BERNAMA
