NE OKC water main break to be repaired by Thursday, what city officials are saying
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A water main break on Oklahoma City's north side has caused a headache for Oklahomans as water has been gushing into the intersection for days.
The intersection of Northeast Santa Fe and 122nd is flowing with water.
Jasmine Morris with the Oklahoma City Utilities Department said there's a 12-inch main break.
'It's a significant one, but it's not too big in comparison to our large distribution system,' said Morris.

'Because of the type of equipment that's required and due to safety concerns and needing a significant enough barrier for them to make the repair, we're going to do that in the late evening hours,' said Morris.
The busy intersection has become a traffic jam. The typical two lanes are narrowed to one, making the commute anywhere a lot longer.
Morris said if you drive through the area, she recommends taking a different route.
Koltin Willis is the General Manager at J. Willis Auto Body, which is only a few feet from the intersection. He said he has noticed a big difference in the traffic.
'The traffic's usually pretty backed up over in this area, but it's almost doubled, I would say, in the last however many days,' Willis said.

Oklahoma City Police said they responded to two crashes on Tuesday near the intersection.
For residents, Morris said there's no need to worry about seeing extra funds on your monthly water bill.
'Whenever we do have leaks or breaks of this type, customers do not see that as a direct reflection on their bill. Any water that they are charged for on their bill is going to be water that they personally use,' said Morris.
Part of NE 122nd will be closed Wednesday night for repairs.
Crews will begin working on the main break Wednesday at 8 p.m. Morris says everything should be fixed and both lanes open no later than noon on Thursday.
