JAY-Z Rape Accuser Files For Defamation Lawsuit To Be Dismissed

JAY-Z has been in the clear for a few months after a Jane Doe dropped her rape lawsuit against him. The 55-year-old rapper countered with a defamation suit, and now his alleged victim is hoping she, too, can clear her name before even going to trial. Hov not only sued her for defamation, but also her attorney Tony Buzbee. They initially sued the Brooklyn rapper in December 2024, adding him to an already existing rape lawsuit against Diddy for alleged sexual misconduct in 2000 when she was just 13 years old. Over time, their story became inconsistent on a grand scale, and Buzbee's credibility was called into question. They ultimately dismissed the lawsuit in February 2024, with the 4:44 rapper to firing back with his defamation lawsuit for the damage done to his name and character. TMZ reported that the woman filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit this past Tuesday (April 24). She claims that the father of three cannot sue her over her accusations because they were made within the confines of court documents, thus they are privileged. She also claimed that her infamous NBC interview, where her story first strayed away from what she initially said, was allegedly based on the court documents and cannot be considered defamation either. Jane Doe is hoping that Jay-Z's defamation lawsuit can be dismissed with prejudice, which would restrict it from being filed again. It may get tricky for Doe and Tony Buzbee's side, as the attorney had already filed to dismiss the defamation lawsuit against him; he claimed that he made a deal with the Roc Nation leader's side before Hov reneged, but Jay's camp told TMZ that was untrue. Doe's lawsuit, notably, includes a similar claim about both sides reaching an agreement. More from BBC To Release 'P. Tech N9ne Recalls 'Dark' Story Of Sleeping With Seventh Grade Teacher He Was 'In Love' With

Respected MC Tech N9ne recently shared a 'dark' story from his past, revealing that he slept with a 21-year-old teacher when he was in 7th grade, making him around 12 years old. The Like I Ain't wordsmith born Aaron Yates recalled the jr. high experience while on the Dumb Blonde podcast. The rapper detailed that the young teacher took interest in him after he showed her a photo of his dad in his cop uniform. From then on, she began complimenting the child's looks daily, saying to the class as they left for the day, 'Aaron is sooo cute.' He also described the teacher as 'beautiful' and felt as if he was 'in love' with her. Eventually, they started having lunch together and were caught by a student behaving inappropriately in her classroom. 'They called us to the office, and they called the teacher to the office, too, and I was sweating. They said her name and said, 'this is alarming,' and she's like, 'I would never! with a student?!' I remember her pleading her case…nothing happened. We didn't get in trouble because I didn't tell.' He then confirmed that they regularly had sex at her home after school, as she instructed him to call his home and ask if he could stay late to help her. She'd then drive him to her place, and when finished, drop him off at home. Host Bunnie Xo then brings up the fact that, if the genders were reversed, a male teacher pulling this on a female student would be made into a much bigger deal, with which Tech 9ine agrees. He did, however, add that his 'love' for the teacher made it difficult for him to see her as a rapist, even while he's fully aware that that is truth of the matter. 'I didn't look at it as rape, because I was in love,' he admitted. 'She groomed you,' Bunnie added. 'I love that you didn't internalize it as being molestation, you know? But responsibly, I have to say, if that was a man doing that to a little girl, we would all f**king lose our minds.' Tech 9ine also recalled that, years later, he was told that the woman also molested other friends of his. Hear Tech tell his story below. Keri Hilson Revisits 'Beyoncé Diss Track' That Derailed Her Career: 'It's A Regret'

Back in 2009, Keri Hilson found herself at the center of controversy following the release of her 'Turnin' Me On (Remix),' which stirred much speculation. Many listeners believed the lyrics took jabs at Beyoncé—an interpretation that would slow down Hilson's career for years to come. In a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, Hilson got candid about that time in her life. The award-winning artist explained how the truth behind the song is far more complicated, and is a regret she still carries to this day. 'It's a regret. But not in the way people think,' she admitted. 'That's a song I actually didn't write. Those are not my words.' According to Hilson, the remix was orchestrated by super-producer Polow Da Don, who was eager to capitalize on the momentum of her hit single while she was still on tour with Lil Wayne. 'He wanted me to do a remix to 'Turnin' Me On,'' she explained. 'He produced the record. Because I was on tour with Lil Wayne, I wasn't able to lay anything down. He had been on me for a couple of weeks, [saying] we need to do a remix.' The lyrical substance of the remix came as a surprise when she finally returned to record it. 'He had another writer in our camp at the time … he had her write this,' she recalled. 'He played it for me— meanwhile I'm thinking I was coming in to write a remix to 'Turnin' Me On.' Automatically, I was like, 'I'm not saying that.' That was my position. I'm an athlete. I am competitive. But I'm not nasty, I'm a finesse player. I don't look at things like that.' What actually made her release the track—knowing its malicious nature—was the 'pressure' she claimed to have received from producers. 'My album wasn't out yet, I was told it's not coming out if you don't do this,' she revealed. 'I was super young. I felt I had no choice. I'm still protecting everyone involved. I've been eating that for years.' Despite the toll the moment took on her career and public image, the 42-year-old said she's reached a place of forgiveness—for herself, at least. 'I've forgiven myself,' she said. 'But I'll never forget what that moment cost me.' Take a look at Keri Hilson speaking on the detrimental 'Turnin' Me On (Remix)' below and revisit the song above. Tony Buzbee Files Motion To Dismiss JAY-Z's Malicious Prosecution Lawsuit Against Him

Tony Buzbee, the attorney who was once representing Diddy and his accusers, is now attempting to shut down a malicious prosecution lawsuit filed against him by JAY-Z — insisting that he had reached an 'agreement' that Jay allegedly 'reneged' on. According to Hov's team, the two were never on one accord. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Buzbee submitted new legal documents Monday seeking to have JAY-Z's suit tossed out of an Alabama court. The lawsuit stems from a now-dismissed rape case brought by a Jane Doe, whom Buzbee represented, accusing JAY-Z and Sean 'Diddy' Combs of raping and assaulting her in 2000. Jay, neé Shawn Carter, responded by suing both Doe and Buzbee in Alabama — where the accuser resides — arguing the case was a malicious and baseless smear attempt. But in his latest filing, Buzbee paints the picture that Jay 'weaponized' his celebrity status to coerce Doe into silence. 'Eventually, the relentless pressure that Mr. Carter and his associates placed upon Doe became too much for her,' Buzbee claims in the filing. 'On February 4, 2025, an agreement to resolve the litigation was reached between Doe and Mr. Carter, through their attorneys, which included the voluntary dismissal of the SDNY Action.' Buzbee further argues that JAY-Z filed his lawsuit in the 'wrong court' and failed to provide a valid legal basis. Most notably, he alleges that there was an agreement in place — a deal he says was not honored. The Roc Nation boss' attorney, Alex Spiro, has shot back at the claim, stating: 'Total lie. He brought a false case, lost badly and was forced to dismiss quickly. End of story.' Marc E. Kasowitz, who is apart of Buzbee's counsel, doubled down, offering a sharply different account of events. 'Spiro's statement that there was no agreement is a total fabrication,' he told TMZ. 'There was an exchange of emails between me and Spiro which set forth the agreement very clearly. As part of that agreement, Spiro agreed to withdraw the Rule 11 motions for sanctions that he had brought against Mr. Buzbee's law firm.' 'We agreed to withdraw the lawsuit that Jane Doe had brought for rape against JAY-Z and Mr. Combs even though Jane Doe continued to maintain that the allegations in that lawsuit were true, and JAY-Z and Spiro agreed not to send any more people to harass and intimidate Jane Doe and her family,' he continued. 'One week later, JAY-Z and his lawyer breached that agreement flagrantly by sending supposed investigators to harass and intimidate Jane Doe and her family.' Spiro, however, acknowledged that Kasowitz had reached out to discuss dismissal, but said he made it clear JAY-Z 'would never settle the lawsuit or pay any money to resolve it, given it was a heinous false accusation.' Reportedly, Jane Doe voluntarily dismissed her case with prejudice — meaning the suit is legally prevented from being refiled. And in that dismissal, there is no mention of any deal or agreement with JAY-Z. Will Smith reveals advice from JAY-Z and Kendrick Lamar before releasing new album

Will Smith has shared the valuable advice given to him by JAY-Z and Kendrick Lamar before embarking on his musical comeback. The Hollywood actor and rapper released his first album in two decades, Based On A True Story, which dropped on March 28. In a recent interview on Sway In The Morning on SiriusXM, Smith revealed that he sought advice from two rap icons—JAY-Z and Kendrick Lamar—before diving back into the music scene. Both artists, despite their different approaches, offered him remarkably similar guidance. "I made two phone calls," Smith said, recalling his conversations. "I talked to Jay and I talked to Kendrick, asking, 'What's the advice?'' JAY-Z's counsel focused on authenticity. 'He said, 'Don't fake your story,'' Smith recalled. ''You gotta say what's true for you. Be true to your story.'' This advice stuck with Smith, influencing the concept behind his upcoming album. 'That's where I got the Based On A True Story from Jay,' Smith explained. Kendrick Lamar's advice mirrored JAY-Z's in essence, even if it was phrased differently. "He said, 'Man, just say that s### you always been f###### scared to say,'' Smith shared, acknowledging the challenge that came with being so open and honest. "It was scary, right? To just, like, say it," Smith admitted. Instead of crafting his music to please others or chasing trends, Smith focused on creating something that feels authentic to him. 'Make the record you want to make,' he said. 'Don't try to make the record that you think people will like you for. Make the one that's authentic.' Smith's Based On A True Story features 14 tracks and guest appearances from notable artists such as his son Jaden, Big Sean, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Teyana Taylor.
