JC Republicans to host Family Freedom Fest
In the first of what members hope will become an annual event, the Johnson County Republican Party will host Family Freedom Fest May 17.
The free family-friendly event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hulen Park in Cleburne.
Scheduled to attend are: state Sen. Phil King, R-Weatherford, Agricultural Commissioner Sid Miller, Railroad Commissioner Christi Craddick and state Comptroller candidate Don Huffines.
Craddick is also running for comptroller.
Local officials from throughout the county have also been invited, JCRP member Don Wilson said.
The event will afford attendees opportunity to meet the office holders and candidates and ask questions, he said.
The event also includes music, family fun and entertainment and food will be available. Sponsorship opportunities remain available as well.
Funds raised from the event will help JCRP with various election integrity initiatives, JCRP Chair Robin Wilson said.
'As our county continues to grow, the need for effective voter outreach programs and trained election workers has never been more crucial,' Robin Wilson said. Join us in making a lasting impact on our community.'

— Student election clerks
