#SHOWBIZ: No 'withdrawal' of filing, Nora determined to get a divorce
SHAH ALAM: Singer Datuk Nora Ariffin's divorce proceedings against her husband, Dr Rushdi Ramli, are moving forward at the Petaling Syariah Lower Court, with the couple now in the process of appointing a Conciliation Committee (JKP). Nora arrived at the courthouse around 8.50am, confirming she had appointed her adopted sister, Rafeah Ariffin, to represent her on the JKP. She affirmed her decision to proceed with the divorce, stating, "So far, there has been no withdrawal of the filing. I am sticking to the original plan. But, I will leave everything to the court." The marital difficulties between Nora and Rushdi first surfaced on Aug 12 last year, becoming a widely discussed topic online. Public attention was drawn after Nora shared a video on Instagram showing Rushdi pronouncing a divorce on her, leading to various speculations. This prompted Nora to formally file for divorce at the Petaling Syariah Lower Court on April 21. Nora confirmed her marriage to Rushdi, a senior lecturer in the Department of Fiqh and Usul at a university in the capital, at the end of 2021. Before this, Nora was married to composer Johan Nawawi in 1992, and they had four children. Johan passed away on March 24, 2017, at the age of 52, due to a heart attack.

Kirti Mandir: Where even the wind whispers 'Radhe Radhe'
PRAYAGRAJ: In the heart of Braj, Kirti Mandir stands as a shining symbol of devotion, architectural brilliance, and humanitarian spirit. Located in Rangeeli Mahal, Barsana Dham, this spiritually resonant temple is the world's first and only shrine depicting Shri Radha Rani in her divine childhood form, tenderly seated in the lap of her mother Kirti Maiya. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Inaugurated on the auspicious day of Basant Panchmi on Feb 10 in 2019, Kirti Mandir was envisioned by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj and brought to completion through the tireless efforts of his daughters and Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat (JKP) presidents — Vishakha Tripathi, Shyama Tripathi and Krishna Tripathi. Built over 12 years, this 80,000-square-foot temple is a true architectural marvel, integrating elements of both Nagara and Dravidian styles without the use of cement or steel. The exterior features pink sandstone intricately carved by master artisans, while the interior is adorned with Italian Carrara marble inlaid with semi-precious stones. A distinctive spiritual element of the temple is the inclusion of 38 devotional couplets from Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj's compositions Radha Govind Geet and Shyama Shyam Geet, inlaid in marble, making the sacred text a part of the very structure. The sanctum sanctorum houses the unprecedented deity of baby Radha cradled in Kirti Maiya's lap — a depiction never seen before. Flanking them are idols of Shri Sita Rama and Shri Radha Krishna, with Ashtamahasakhis, Shri Radha Rani's eight eternal companions, enshrined nearby. The spirit of divine love and service The temple's design and spiritual significance echo the deep vatsalya bhava, the sacred maternal love, experienced by Kirti Maiya for Shri Radha. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now According to scriptural tradition, Kirti Maiya and Vrishabhanu Ji performed penance for over 4.3 million years to receive the divine blessing of being Radha Rani's parents. The temple is also a centre of visual devotion, with walls adorned by vivid paintings of Shri Radha's pastimes with her sakhis and Shri Krishna's divine glance filled with love. The temple's spires are said to radiate Radha's divine name across the cosmos, making it a beacon for spiritual seekers worldwide. Commitment to Seva Adjacent to the temple is the Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya (JKC), which offers 100% free medical services to the underprivileged. At the time of the temple's inauguration, over 50,000 villagers were provided with essential items in a large-scale distribution drive. This tradition of selfless seva (service) continues to this day through regular health camps and support initiatives. About Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat (JKP) Founded by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj in 1970, JKP is a spiritual, educational, and philanthropic non-profit dedicated to spreading devotion to Radha-Krishna and serving humanity through charitable schools, colleges, hospitals, temples and welfare programs.

#SHOWBIZ: Dr Rushdi rejects Nora's divorce application
SHAH ALAM: The Petaling Syariah Lower Court has set June 4 as the next mention date in the divorce proceedings between singer Datuk Nora Ariffin and her husband, Dr Rushdi Ramli. Nora's lawyer, Sarah Mohd Ali, informed the court that the second mention is to facilitate the appointment of a Conciliation Committee (JKP), following Rushdi's refusal to grant Nora a divorce during today's hearing. "Dr Rushdi rejected the divorce application at this stage. Therefore, the court has scheduled a second mention for June 4, to initiate the JKP process," Sarah told reporters outside the Petaling Syariah Lower Court. "However, Rushdi did not specify his reasons for opposing the divorce," she added. The court will now proceed with the process outlined in Section 47 of the Islamic Family Law Enactment (Selangor) 2003. If the JKP process proves unsuccessful, the case will move forward to the hakam stage. Earlier today, Nora, whose full name is Wan Norafizah Ariffin, and Rushdi, represented by syariah lawyer Azmi Mohd Rais, made separate appearances in court for the initial mention of their divorce application. Nora filed for divorce on April 21, citing an irreconcilable breakdown of the marriage. Nora and Rushdi, a senior lecturer in the Department of Fiqh and Usul at a local university, confirmed their marriage in late 2021. Nora was previously married to composer Johan Nawawi in 1992. They had four children together. Johan Nawawi passed away on March 24, 2017, at the age of 52, due to a heart attack.
