Allahabad University's PG admission entrance exam starts on June 10
Prayagraj: The PG entrance examination (PGAT) for admission to various postgraduate courses at Allahabad University is proposed to start on June 10. This decision was taken during a meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of the director of the admission cell of AU. "PGAT will be held on June 10, 11, 12 and 13. The exam will be conducted both online and offline in Prayagraj, Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Bareilly, and New Delhi. Whereas, in Bhopal, Kolkata, Patna, and Thiruvananthapuram, the examination will be held only online. The admit card will be uploaded on the university website a week before the entrance examination," he said. There will be admission to approximately 8,000 seats in 61 postgraduate courses in AU and affiliated colleges. This time, AU has decided not to give any weightage to NCC and sports quota in BEd, MEd, MBA, and MBA (rural development) courses. Additionally, the rules for the sports quota have been changed, and a physical strength test has been included. Admission will be conducted in traditional courses under PGAT-1, with examinations in both modes. In contrast, admission to professional and Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) courses will be under PGAT-2, with the entrance examination conducted only online.

AU PG entrance test application process set to begin today
Prayagraj: The online application process for the Postgraduate Entrance Test (PGAT) for 2025-26 session at Allahabad University (AU) and its constituent colleges will begin on April 25 and continue till May 16. Director of admissions at AU, Prof JK Pati said candidates must apply through the official website. Admissions will be conducted for 7,231 PG seats across a total of 55 subjects. Traditional postgraduate courses are included in PGAT-1, with examinations conducted both offline and online. The non-traditional courses are included in PGAT-2025, with entrance examinations conducted online only. The list of courses is available in the PGAT-2025 brochure. "We have advised the applicants to fill in the code of their chosen subject carefully, as no changes related to the subject will be accepted at any stage of PGAT admission," said Prof Pati.
