Billy Joel postpones tour dates after surgery, citing health concerns

Billy Joel has postponed eight stadium concerts originally scheduled between March and June 2024 due to a medical condition. The legendary singer-songwriter recently underwent surgery and will focus on recovery, including doctor-supervised physical therapy. 'While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first,' Joel said in a statement. 'I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding.' His next performance is now scheduled for July 5 at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. The postponed shows include stops in Toronto, Detroit, Syracuse, Charlotte, Salt Lake City, Edinburgh, Liverpool, and Milwaukee. Most of these concerts have been rescheduled for 2025 or 2026, except for Milwaukee, which remains to be determined. The new dates are as follows: Detroit's Ford Field will now host the concert on November 15, 2025, with Stevie Nicks. Toronto's show at Rogers Centre has been moved to March 14, 2026. Syracuse's JMA Wireless Dome concert, featuring Sting, will take place on April 10, 2026. Salt Lake City's Rice Eccles Stadium will now welcome Joel and Sting on May 22, 2026. The Edinburgh concert at Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium is set for June 6, 2026, while Liverpool's Anfield Stadium will host the show on June 20, 2026. Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium, also featuring Sting, has been rescheduled for July 3, 2026. The Milwaukee concert at American Family Field, where Sting is also set to perform, has yet to receive a new date. Tickets for the original dates remain valid. Later this year, Joel's tour will continue with performances in New York, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., Cincinnati, Santa Clara, New Orleans, and Florida.
