The Fronx is one of several cars made in India and exported to other countries, including the brand's home country. The Japan NCAP safety rating for the Fronx sold there is out, and it has a fairly impressive score of 4 out of 5 stars. However, the Fronx sold in Japan does come with a few additional features, like an all-wheel drive system and level-2 ADAS. The Fronx hasn't been tested by GNCAP or BNCAP just yet. In the Preventive Safety Performance, again, the Fronx was impressive once again with a total score of 79.42 out of 85.8 points, which amounts to 92 per cent. When it comes to Autonomous Emergency braking, the Fronx scored a perfect Level 5 rating, and Level 3 for the intersection part of the test. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has scored a 4-star safety rating in the Japan New Car Assessment Programme (JNCAP), its first safety evaluation since its launch. The model is manufactured at Maruti's plant in Gujarat and is exported to Japan. Under the 2025 JNCAP evaluation, the vehicle secured an overall score of 163.75 out of 193.8 points. It scored 79.42 out of 85.8 in preventive safety performance and 76.33 out of 100 in collision safety performance. In the full-wrap frontal collision test at 50 kmph, the Fronx earned a Level 5 rating. The offset frontal collision test, simulating a partial front-end crash at the same speed, resulted in a 4 out of 5 rating for occupant protection with a score of 21.08 out of 24. However, the vehicle was penalised for potential damage to other vehicles, scoring -2.12 out of 5. In rear-end collision simulations, both front seats received a Level 4 rating for whiplash protection. For pedestrian safety, the Fronx received a Level 3 for head protection and Level 5 for leg protection. It also scored a perfect Level 5 in the Autonomous Emergency Braking test and in lane departure prevention. The Japanese-spec Fronx comes with enhanced features, setting it apart from its Indian counterpart. The compact SUV gets an all-wheel-drive option with four modes: Auto, Sport, Snow, and Lock. In addition to AWD, the Japan-spec Fronx is outfitted with a host of ADAS features. The ADAS features include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and front parking sensors. An electronic parking brake with a hill-hold function and heated seats are other major highlights of the Japan-spec model. The Japan New Car Assessment Program (JNCAP) has performed crash tests on the Suzuki Fronx and announced the results. Based on the analysis conducted by the safety testing organisation, the car has scored a four star rating. The unit tested by the agency has been manufactured in India. However, it comes with more safety features compared to the iteration sold in the Indian market. Based on the results, the Suzuki Fronx has an 84 percent score in the assessment. Specifically, it has managed to get an overall 163.75 points out of a total of 193.8 points. Apart from that, the car scored 79.42 points out of 85.8 points in the preventive safety performance test, while the collision safety performance test ended with a score of 76.33 points out of 100 points. The car also got a level 5/5 in full-wrap frontal collision test, side collision test, and pedestrian leg protection performance test. The Suzuki Fronx sold in Japan is exported from the Indian market. However, unlike the Indian version of the car, it comes equipped with advanced safety features like autonomous emergency braking, lane departure prevention system, and more. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx in India is sold at a starting price of Rs 7.54 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 12.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes with either a 1.2-litre K-series engine of the brand or a 1.0-litre K-series turbo petrol engine. The transmission options include a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT for the naturally aspirated engine and a 5-speed MT along with 6-speed AT for the turbo petrol.
