Tyler, The Creator Ignites Opening Day of 2025 Governors Ball: 7 Best Moments
After a sweltering first day at the 2025 Governors Ball on Friday (June 6), Tyler, The Creator made sure to remind everyone multiple times throughout his explosive closing set just how hot it really was. With sweat pouring down his face, he paused his music a few times just to comment on how he was 'hotter than a b—h,' and how he knew there were hundreds of 'moist' orifices out in the crowd. More from Billboard Olivia Rodrigo Brings Out David Byrne for Scorching 'Burning Down the House' (And Does Some of His Dance Moves) at Gov Ball Governors Ball 2025 Delays Headliners, Cancels Early Sets Due to Weather on Day 2 Chris Brown Earns 21 New RIAA Certifications - Including 8x Platinum for These Two Hits Tyler was right, and I hadn't realized until those moments of reflection just how disgusting I actually was from an eventful first day at Gov Ball. JPEGMAFIA motivated dozens of dirty and bruised teenagers to mosh the afternoon away while performing a capella renditions of Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe.' There was a trip down memory lane hosted by T-Pain, who has been on an absolute tear of nostalgic shows as part of his Back to Wiscansin Tour. Somewhere in the distance Benson Boone was doing a flip, was blowing out speakers, and Tyla was enthralling supporters in her steamy 'popiano' sound. But we had all gathered there to see Tyler, The Creator bring his Chromakopia album to life, and when he finally stepped out in his green suit, the crowd could hardly contain themselves. While Tyler acknowledged the heat, his mid-tour exhaustion, and the fact he had only a little over an hour, he made sure to run through hits both new and old. As he did his best to satiate his moist and sweaty fans who had braved the elements to witness him live. Here are the best moments from Tyler's memorable Gov Ball set. Coming out the gates with the first three songs of Chromakopia, Tyler opened with an explosive performance of 'St. Chroma,' 'Rah Tah Tah' and 'Noid,' letting each track flow into the next as he rapped each bar with lyrical precision. The crowd was energized and fired up, and unsurprisingly rapped along to every syllable from Tyler's new album. Whenever Tyler has performed 'Sticky,' it's always been such a moment — and this time was no different. The crowd went bananas (quite literally, one kid was crowd surfing in a banana costume), screaming out GloRilla and Sexyy Red's verses as the bass rattled everyones ear drums. While IGOR's 'Earfquake' satisfied everyone there, it was 'New Magic Wand' that truly sent a shockwave through the crowd. The energy was magnetic as Tyler tore through the 2019 single. Tyler, The Creator barely did any leg work during his run through of 'Like Him,' as his fans carried the song from start to finish. As Tyler pirouetted his way across his signature Chromakopia shipping container, the fans cried out the song in what was a surprisingly moving moment of solace. 'Can you rap my sister's verse, New York?' Tyler called out as a video Doechii appeared on the screen behind him. As fans ripped through her 'Balloon' bars, Doechii's ravenous energy was felt all through the crowd. The Swamp Princess' magnetic energy was indescribable as it shot through the crowd, reminding me and everyone else that 'Balloon' is a sleeper hit. While he only indulged for a few bars, Tyler's 'Yonkers' still goes hard when it's played outside. The 13-year-old song shook the festival, as fans raged and rapped along to the Goblin classic. Tyler, the Creator's Flower Boy made only a few appearances during the set, but 'See You Again' was the perfect closer to a great night. The fans swooned as Ty did his thing, showcasing the timeless nature of that song. It was a great closer, and one that people were chattering about on their way out of the grounds. Feature Video: Flume & JPEGMAFIA - AI Girlfriend
Get your stacks out and start peeling off hundies and tucking them into Flume and JPEGMAFIA's waistbands because these guys deserve all the rewards right now after securing their second Featured Video award in two weeks!! With 'AI Girlfriend' they've totally one-eightied the vibes from their previous video release 'Track 1', trading hand-drawn animated caricatures for dystopian science-fiction that's like a wild hedonistic version of Fritz Lang's Metropolis . Co-directed by JPEGMAFIA and Logan Fields (who has worked with Peggy before on clips including 'Protect The Cross', 'don't rely on other men', 'Sin Miedo' and 'Scaring the Hoes' with Danny Brown), 'AI Girlfriend' is a "We live in such an absurd time' says Logan. 'Really, I just wanted to take a snapshot of right now as I see it.' It was a mad hustle from start to finish with this clip, which includes a life-size 'robot girlfriend', a cast of performers and an impromptu cameo from actor Dax Flame (who's popular work includes Project X and 21 Jump Street ). 'From idea to release, the whole thing came together in about a week, so everything moved fast' says Logan. 'The robot suit had to be flown in by its designer from Barcelona and didn't land until midnight before the shoot with no fitting. The Dax Flame cameo is all thanks to our amazing producer James Stewart, who managed to arrange his appearance literally the day of.' Using a variety of cameras and formats in what Logan likes to call 'a shotgun blast approach' (handing cameras to as many people as possible), the team created an abundance of perspectives and textures to play with. 'I spent the two days after the shoot cutting the video with help from the insanely talented editor and VFX artist Low Limit Vision' says Logan. 'The video dropped the following afternoon, three days after filming it.' 'The fun thing about making something this fast is there's no time to second guess. An idea gets said out loud and a few hours later it's in the frame. It's chaotic but kind of freeing."

Flume And JPEGMAFIA Release Collaborative EP ‘We Live In A Society'
Flume and JPEGMAFIA have officially shared their debut collaborative EP, entitled We Live In A Society. Last week saw the Australian producer and American rapper tease the release of the project with an animated video for what ended up being the first track on the EP, the imaginatively-titled 'Track 1'. It was then confirmed via Flume's social media a few days later. The pair reportedly began work on the EP in 2023, prior to both Peggy's collaborative album with Danny Brown (Scaring The Hoes) and his fifth solo album I Lay Down My Life For You – on which Flume co-produced the Vince Staples collab 'New Black History'. We Live In A Society can be streamed below via Spotify. To promote the EP, a music video for the track 'AI Girlfriend' has also been shared. JPEGMAFIA co-directed the music video himself, alongside collaborator Logan Fields. The clip depicts a futuristic knight in a strip club, and is filmed from its perspective in the spirit of The Prodigy's controversial 'Smack My Bitch Up' music video. It also features YouTuber Dax Flame in a cameo role. We Live In A Society marks Flume's first new music as a lead artist since the release of his two 2023 mixtapes: Things Don't Always Go The Way You Plan and Arrived Anxious, Left Bored. Since then, he has collaborated with Tkay Maidza on the single 'Silent Assassin' and with Kučka on 'One More Night'. Peggy, meanwhile, has stayed prolific in 2025. He has released the stand-alone singles 'Protect The Cross' and 'Valentines Day Freestyle '25', as well as a 'director's cut' of I Lay Down My Life For You which expands it to a 76-minute double album. The rapper has also teased his sixth solo album and a follow-up to Scaring The Hoes with Brown on his social media accounts. They tried so hard: Linkin Park's homecoming L.A. show hit with huge downgrades and ticket price drop
Linkin Park has made a major change to the homecoming date on their 2025 From Zero world tour, which resumes April 26 in Austin, Texas. Last September, the nu-metal band kicked off their world tour in Inglewood, California. That concert marked their highly anticipated return to live performances following a seven-year hiatus after the tragic suicide of frontman Chester Bennington in 2017. It also welcomed Bennington's replacement, Emily Armstrong, as well as new drummer Colin Brittain. The nearly year-long world tour is in support of the band's latest album, From Zero, and features stops in major cities across North America, Europe and South America. In an Instagram post made last week, the 'In the End' band announced additional South American dates. Meanwhile, in the same post, they noted that their forthcoming September 13 show in their hometown of Los Angeles had been relocated from the previous 56,000-capacity Dodger Stadium to the significantly smaller 18,000-capacity Intuit Dome. 'If you purchased tickets previously, you will be refunded & have first shot at buying tickets at Intuit Dome. Can't wait to see you there!' the message read. The concert will still be opened by previously announced rapper and singer JPEGMAFIA; however, Queens of the Stone Age will no longer make an appearance. In a subsequent post, Linkin Park advertised discounted tickets to any North American 'show of your choice' for only $39.95 (not including fees and taxes), with the caveat being that the seats would be randomly assigned. Both the Los Angeles venue downgrade, along with the low-priced tickets, has led to speculation that the band is having trouble selling tickets. The Independent has contacted Linkin Park's representatives for comment. From Zero, released shortly after the band's first reunion concert, is the group's first album since Bennington's death. It has become a hit with critics and fans alike, with The Independent 's Helen Brown writing that while the album is nothing revolutionary, it is 'certainly a re-energized return to business for a band that has been sorely missed.' Brown further praised Armstrong for her 'roaring' vocals, adding that the singer's 'new flavor is balanced by the familiarity of the nu-metal band's crowd-pleasing chord progressions.'
