We are running the definition of a Union Jack up the flagpole
It has been a red, white and blue week, and not just on the jackstaffs of Royal Navy ships. At the VE Day celebrations, we said, the Cenotaph 'was draped in a large Union Jack'; earlier we wrote of the Reform UK plan to ban all flags but Union Jacks and St George's crosses from council buildings. A party spokesman took a pop at those who were 'upset about Reform councils flying the Union flag' — which will have been a relief to Jack Brenchley of Tonbridge.
