FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — The City of Fairhope General Municipal Election will take place on Aug. 26 and multiple people are running for city council seats. Foley National Guard members to deploy to Egypt Fairhope Mayor Sherry Sullivan is running unopposed; therefore, Fairhope residents will not see her on the ballot. As for city council seats, here is who is running for each seat: Council Place no. 1 Jack Burrell Troy Vickers Council Place no. 2 Joshua N. Gammon Corey Martin Council Place no. 3 Jimmy Conyers Tracy Gatewood Council Place no. 4 Howell Gibbens David Luc Jay Robinson Council Place no. 5 Andrea Faust Booth George Ferniany Polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the 26th. The last day to apply for an absentee ballot is Aug. 21, with the last day to receive hand-delivered absentee ballots being Aug. 25. The last day to receive mail-in absentee ballots is Aug. 26, but they must be postmarked by Aug. 24 and must be received by noon. Fairhope City Councilman Jack Burrell announces re-election campaign

FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — The current Fairhope City Council president has announced his campaign for re-election in Place 1. Daphne chaplain back from Israel after mission to comfort children of war Jack Burrell is the senior principal aerospace engineer at Leidos Dynetics, where he analyzes and tests aerospace hardware for the Department of Defense and U.S. Armed Forces, as well as owns a vacation rental property business, according to his campaign news release. Burrell was originally voted into the city council in 2012 and has served as the president of the council for 10 of the past years. The release said Burrell has completed multiple projects, including eliminating the city's General Fund debt, creating legislation that requires all council and Planning Commission meetings to be livestreamed and archived, as well as acquiring the Fairhope K-1 Center, which will be the 'entrepreneurial center of the city.'
