Coventry reportedly reject Saints bid for Rudoni
SAINTS have reportedly seen a bid rejected for Coventry City midfielder Jack Rudoni. Southampton have been in the market for a creative midfielder all summer, and may soon need to replace Tyler Dibling. With Everton already seeing bids rejected for Dibling, who is now training away from the first-team squad at Staplewood, Saints have made an approach for Rudoni. The Sun report that Southampton's bid was 'well below' Coventry's asking price, and it is unclear whether they will bid again. Coventry boss Lampard 'a joy' to work with
Coventry City's Jack Rudoni said it is "a joy" to work with head coach Frank Lampard, and has credited the former Chelsea and England midfielder for his outstanding form last Rudoni, 24, scored seven goals in the last 12 games of the 2024-25 campaign as the Sky Blues reached the Championships play-offs before losing in the semi-finals to Sunderland, who were finished with 10 goals and 13 assists in all competitions - form that won him the club's player of the year he is in little doubt over the impact Chelsea legend Lampard has had on his game. "I'm loving every minute working with the gaffer," Rudoni told BBC CWR. "Every day in training is enjoyable and I feel like I'm learning every day from him and the other staff."There's really no-one better to learn from, and I think you can see how my game has improved since he's come in - numbers-wise and performance-wise - in the second half of the season."It's not just me but the whole team, which helps me play better."It's been a joy to play under him and the staff, and I look forward to carrying that on." Rudoni's stock has risen significantly since his move from Huddersfield Town a year ago but he said the changes he has made, with the help of Lampard, have not been that radical."It's small tweaks. It was about getting in the right areas - the timing and working on relationships.
