Jacky Wu dismisses backlash against his interview with MAMAMOO's Solar
11 Jun - Jacky Wu recently dismissed the backlash against him over his recent comment in front of MAMAMOO's member, Solar on his show, "Mr. Player". The whole issue sparked after Solar appeared on the show to promote her Chinese EP, "Floating Free", inviting praises from Jacky who told her that she is a good singer. "I'm quite surprised. Many Korean girls are beautiful, but when they start singing, wow, it's really bad to listen to," said the TV personality. Many then took to social media to slam Jacky, saying that he was being disrespectful and speaking out of turn. Some even alleged that an old school host like Jacky should just retire from the industry. In response to the criticism, Jacky said that he has been accustomed to this kind of targeted criticism and that "the truth will become clearer as time goes by." He added that people should ask Solar herself if she was slighted by his comment. "I was simply complimenting Solar for being beautiful and talented at singing. There's nothing wrong with that!" he added. Jacky then revealed that he had just performed with Solar at the 11th anniversary event of his show, adding, "We've always upheld the spirit of 'It's great to have friends come from afar' in warmly welcoming every friend from the entertainment industry, both from Taiwan and abroad." Jacky Wu on Mickey Huang divorce: It's long overdue!
23 May - Jacky Wu has things to say when it comes to disgraced TV personality Mickey Huang's rumoured divorce, one of them being that it was long overdue. The Taiwanese TV host did not mince words when asked for his two cents regarding the latest development in Mickey's personal life, saying that he would have advised Summer to leave Mickey a long time ago if he was the actress' family member. "Don't drag your wife and child into it. The child is completely innocent. Mickey Huang is basically a cancer in the industry, constantly using his sharp tongue to maliciously spread rumours and stir up trouble behind people's backs," he said. Reminding people that he was one of Mickey's slander victims, the TV personality added, "And the most disgusting thing this year was seeing him having a cozy coffee outing with his wife and daughter. I absolutely cannot accept it." It is noted that following the sexual harassment allegations against him back in June 2023, Mickey decided to post highly explosive confession videos accusing 18 other celebrities of misdeeds. Jacky was also named in the video, with Mickey accusing him of having been with multiple women including a former assistant. Jacky had since denied it and handed the issue to his lawyer. "If he has even a shred of conscience, he should get as far away as possible and never come back. Never show his face in front of everybody anymore... Wang Xiaofei to proceed with May wedding reception
3 Apr - It looks like Wang Xiaofei will go ahead with his wedding reception this May as scheduled, despite many thinking that the unexpected passing of his ex-wife Barbie Hsu might postpone the original plan. It was reported that Wang and new wife Mandy Ma will be holding their event on 17 May at a hotel in Beijing, and that many friends have already been sent the invitations, including Taiwanese TV personality, Jacky Wu. Said Jacky, he has already received the invite, but is unsure whether he will be able to attend due to his hectic schedule. Wang and Mandy announced their marriage in May last year, with the plan to hold their reception a year after the marriage registration. However, back in February, the businessman was hit with the tragic news of his ex-wife Barbie's passing.
