He then had a stare-down with 'The Samoan Werewolf' as he made his way to the ring for his match against Andrade and Camelo Hayes. Damien Priest hints at a feud with Jacob Fatu Damien Priest seemingly moved on from his feud with Drew McIntyre on the latest episode of the blue brand. He praised 'The Scottish Warrior' for bringing his A-game to the table during their match at Saturday Night's Main Event. He then reflected on the rivalry and said that it has taken a toll on his body, making him miss the opportunity to qualify for the Men's Money in the Bank match. Priest went on to make it clear that he has his eye set on the WWE US title. 'The Archer of Infamy' then exited the ring and had a staredown with Jacob Fatu, the current champion. Family ties bring rising WWE superstar to Knoxville for Smackdown
KNOXVILLE (WATE) – WWE Smackdown rolls into Knoxville Friday night. WWE Superstar Jacob Fatu says he's never been to Knoxville and he's excited for it. Fatu also said professional wrestling was a lifeline for him. 'Man, it's keeping me out of jail,' said Fatu. 'I was 18 and sitting in county and who did I see on the screen, Jimmy and Jey (Uso). I couldn't believe my cousins were on their though.' John Cena to return to Knoxville for a final time in May After Fatu was release from jail, he moved to Los Angeles and began training with his family. Fatu's family includes Roman Reigns, Jimmy and Jey Uso and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. 'Man, we grew up around it without knowing we grew up around it. In our culture, we are very family oriented. Wrestling has always been around but it was always normal to us,' Fatu said. Fatu debuted last year – and just like his catchphrase – he been 'all gas, no brakes' ever since. Since his debut he has become Tag Team Champions and more recently he beat L.A. Knight at Wrestlemania for the United States Championship. 'My love and support from my family was in the building that day. Shout out to L.A., man. When you hear that L.A. Knight music and the roar of the crowd, there's no other person that I'd want to do it with. Very thankful for the opportunity, very thankful for WWE,' he said. Fatu had this message for Knoxville as WWE Smackdown is live at Food City Center Friday night. WWE star Bianca Belair encourages public input for Knoxville parks master plan 'Man, if you know Jacob Fatu, Jacob Fatu is gonna tell you the truth. There ain't no other way, It's Friday night. We movin' and groovin',' Fatu said promoting the upcoming show. 'Of course, I'm gonna be there. Solo is gonna be there. We are gonna have the triple threat Money In The Bank triple threat qualifying match. If you're a wrestling fan, it don't matter what you watch, it's time for you to pull up.' WWE Smackdown airs Friday night at 8 p.m. on USA. If you're going to the show at Food City Center, doors open at 6:30 p.m. and will feature John Cena, Cody Rhodes and Knoxville's own Bianca Belair. WWE SmackDown results May 16: Jeff Cobb comes across as an after-thought a week after debuting at Backlash
WWE SmackDown results May 16: JC Cobb made his WWE debut at Backlash when he assaulted LA Knight and helped Jacob Fatu retain the US title in a fatal-4-way match, which also involved Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest. On SmackDown, Solo Sikoa formally introduced the star to the WWE Universe and revealed that he will be known as JC Mateo in the Stamford-based promotion. However, the former NJPW star didn't quite make as strong an impact as many expected during his first appearance on the blue brand. Jeff Cobb (AKA JC Mateo) makes a limited impact on SmackDown Solo Sikoa made his way to the ring with Jacob Fatu and Jeff Cobb during the opening segment of SmackDown. He then introduced the audience to the former 'hottest free agent' before taking a dig at Roman Reigns for losing to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. Sikoa then implied that he played a role in helping 'The Samoan Werewolf' win the US title. This upset Fatu who said that he was going to rule and conquer with or without his help. Solo then asked Jacob Fatu to prove his loyalty and subtly reminded him of their past equation. Solo Sikoa got Jacob Fatu to say 'I love you Solo' but it didn't hit the same as it used to.#SmackDown As the focus was on these two, JC Mateo was soon forgotten. To make it worse, he did not say a word. LA Knight soon made an appearance and assaulted Mateo. Cobb's first match was underwhelming Later in the night, Mateo was at the ringside when Solo Sikoa beat Jimmy Uso and Rey Fenix to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match. He, however, did not do much. Later, he made his in-ring debut against LA Knight in an impromptu match. Mateo put on a good show and impressed with his offence. He eventually got the three count after nailing with Tour of the Islands, his finisher. However, the impromptu nature of the match diluted the impact of what should have been a special moment. WWE SmackDown May 16: Solo Sikoa addressed the WWE Universe in the opening segment of WWE SmackDown and introduced them to Jeff Cobb, who made his debut at Backlash. He then took a dig at Roman Reigns, his cousin, for 'ruining' the family name by losing to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 and vowed to rectify. This, however, did not go down well with Jacob Fatu. Jacob Fatu takes exception to Solo Sikoa's words Solo Sikoa projected himself as the leader and pride of his family on SmackDown and even implied that he was responsible for Jacob Fatu being the US Champion. 'The Samoan Werewolf' took exception to this and said that he plans to continue his reign with or without him. Solo then cut him short and asked him to show his loyalty to him again. Solo Sikoa got Jacob Fatu to say 'I love you Solo' but it didn't hit the same as it used to.#SmackDown This led to tension between the two men. LA Knight's music and the issues were seemingly forgotten. 'The Megastar' then pulled JC out of the ring and assaulted him for costing him the US title at Backlash. Jacob Fatu to turn face soon? Jacob Fatu has gotten over with the WWE Universe in virtually no time. As such, a face turn is on the cards. Given what happened on SmackDown, there is a strong chance of Solo Sikoa and JC eventually turning on him. This would lead to a long feud between Jacob Fatu and Solo, culminating in a match at a Premium Live Event.
