The FIFA Club World Cup will run from June 14-July 13, 2025, here's what you need to know to watch the matches in person. (Jacob Kupferman - FIFA/FIFA via Getty Images) 32 of the greatest soccer clubs from around the world will head to the USA for the FIFA Club World Cup which runs from June 14 through July 13 in stadiums across the country. Unlike the regular World Cup – which will take place in 2026 and pits national teams against each other — the Club World Cup features individual club teams from the world's most prestigious soccer federations. The top 32 teams that qualify are then drawn into eight groups of four. Group winners and runners-up will then advance into a knockout round of 16, and then quarterfinals, semifinals, and a championship final taking place on July 13 at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey. 31 of these teams qualified for the tournament by winning or placing in a continental title tournament over the last four years, however, there's one exception: Inter Miami has not won a title but they've qualified because a spot has been reserved for a team representing the host nation. Which means that, barring any injuries or extenuating circumstances, MLS's star player Lionel Messi will be there. Advertisement Inter Miami plays the very first match of the tournament on June 14; here's everything you need to know about how to get tickets to that match and every other game of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. (AP Photo/Jacob Kupferman, File) Notre Dame and Clemson already know each other pretty well in football. That relationship will become even more familiar in the future after the two college football powers announced a 12-year home-and-home scheduling agreement on Tuesday that will pit them against each other annually from 2027 through 2038. Advertisement Clemson and Notre Dame were already scheduled to play in 2027, 2028, 2031, 2034 and 2037. Under the revamped schedule, the Tigers will host the games during odd-numbered years during that time frame, while the Fighting Irish will host the games in even-numbered years. Clemson holds a 5-3 advantage in the all-time series, which has been highlighted by some memorable matchups. The teams have played six times since 2015 with Clemson winning four times, including both postseason matchups. Clemson defeated Notre Dame 30-3 in the College Football Playoff national semifinal at the Cotton Bowl in 2018 before winning the national title two weeks later. In 2020, Notre Dame, playing as a full-time member of the Atlantic Coast Conference because of COVID-19 scheduling concerns, beat the Tigers in a shootout, only to lose to Clemson in the ACC championship. Advertisement 'Even in just the last decade, matchups between Clemson and Notre Dame have produced incredibly memorable moments and games,' Clemson director of athletics Graham Neff said in a release. 'We have immense excitement for the creation of this 12-year series between these two premier programs, as we know these will be must-see matchups for fans at Memorial Stadium and Notre Dame Stadium as well as television audiences nationwide.' Both teams reached the expanded College Football Playoff field last year, with the Irish advancing to the national championship game before losing to Ohio State 34-23. Clemson has won nine or more games in 14 straight seasons — the nation's second-longest active streak and the fourth-longest streak in major college football history. Notre Dame has won nine or more games in the last eight seasons. 'We strive to consistently create a football schedule that positions us for success in the College Football Playoff, and that goal requires us to form historic partnerships like this one with Clemson,' Notre Dame vice president and director of athletics Pete Bevacqua said. 'This rivalry has already produced some of the most memorable moments in recent college football history, and our fans deserve these matchups to continue to make those indelible memories.' ___ AP college football: and

(AP Photo/Jacob Kupferman) CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Ja Morant had 28 points, five rebounds and eight assists as the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Charlotte Hornets 124-100 on Tuesday night. Memphis guard Jaylen Wells was taken from the court on a stretcher and transported to a hospital after he made a fast-break dunk and landed hard on his head following a midair collision with Charlotte's K.J. Simpson. Wells, who was starting his 74th game, was inadvertently undercut by Simpson from behind. Wells was down for eight minutes before being lifted onto the stretcher with his head strapped in to restrict motion. Officials called a Flagrant 2 foul on Simpson, who was automatically ejected. Advertisement Desmond Bane scored 19 points, Zach Edey had 17 points and 19 rebounds and Jaren Jackson Jr. 14 points for Memphis (47-32), which kept pace in the Western Conference race. Teams from third to eighth place were separated by two games in the standings heading into Tuesday. Miles Bridges scored 14 points for Charlotte (19-60). Takeaways Grizzlies: After missing Saturday's win at Detroit due to food poisoning, Morant made the most of his 'homecoming' visit to Charlotte, which is 107 miles north of his native Dalzell, South Carolina. He had a crowd-pleasing alley-oop dunk late in the first quarter and many cheered his baskets throughout the game. Advertisement Hornets: Charlotte's 16-year veteran Taj Gibson played in his 999th career regular-season game. Gibson is in his first season with the Hornets after previously playing for Chicago, Oklahoma City, Minnesota, New York, Washington and Detroit. Key moment Bane scored five of the game's first seven points as Memphis raced to a 7-0 lead. Charlotte never led in the game. Key stat Charlotte converted 15 of 32 3-pointers, with Ball going 5 fof 10. Jeffries was 3 for 5, Jusuf Nurkic hit two, Smith went 2 for 4 and Bridges 2 for 5. Up next The Grizzlies host Minnesota on Thursday. The Hornets visit Toronto on Wednesday.
