An earthquake jolted parts of New Jersey and New York City on Saturday night, rousing sleepers in their beds and shaking an 'entire house.' It struck at about 10.20pm and was centered in Hasbrouck Heights in Bergen County, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said. One social media, writing on X, thought her heater had blown up: 'I was laying in bed and suddenly there was a rumble, a bang and my bed shook! I thought my furnace exploded.'
