Lebanese PM discusses banking reforms and Beirut Museum project with French official

The meeting also reviewed the expected timeline for the law's approval, along with progress in drafting the financial gap law, both of which are seen as essential steps toward Lebanon's financial and economic recovery. Additionally, Prime Minister Salam was briefed on the details of a planned archaeological museum for the city of Beirut, which is slated to be built in Martyrs' Square, the heart of the capital.

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met at the Grand Serail with Jacques de La Jogie, economic advisor to the French President's special envoy to Lebanon, in the presence of Economy Minister Amer Bsat and French Ambassador Hervé Magro. Discussions focused on the latest developments in Lebanon's economic reform path, including the banking restructuring law sent to Parliament and the preparation of the financial gap legislation, both key to finalizing an agreement with the IMF and advancing preparations for the upcoming donor conference in France. PM Salam also met with ESCWA Executive Secretary Rola Dashti to review ongoing cooperation projects and explore ways to support Lebanon during this critical period. Former MP Ziad Kadri also visited the Serail for talks on general political developments.
