A BRUTAL street brawl erupted after two women tried to claim a parking spot by standing in the way of a driver. The viral video taken in Queens, New York, has reignited a debate on whether it's ever right to claim a public space using an item - or your body. 5 5 5 Mom and daughter duo Andreea Dumitru, 45, and Sabrina Starman, 21, launched a heinous attack on driver Jada McPherson as she tried to park into a Ridgewood street. But the pair were allegedly "guarding" the space - with their bodies. An unidentified man also joined in on the horror brawl, fighting McPherson, but fled the area before cops arrived, authorities said. After McPherson attempted to find another spot on the block at 18-28 Putnam Ave, she return to tell the mom and daughter that they couldn't guard parking spots, she told The NY Post previously. But another argued they wouldn't be worth putting your safety at risk for a space. They said: "I personally wouldn't get into a fight over it [...] because of how people drive here, I would not put my body on the line in front of cars. "I'd be scared to stand in the street to save a spot. Because of how people drive here, I wouldn't put my body on the line." 5 5

Save the drama. A wild caught-on-video street brawl over a Queens parking space has reignited a longtime debate over whether it's ever OK to claim a public spot on the street with an item — or even your body. 'No, it's not OK. If you don't have a car, you shouldn't be standing there,' said Daniel Rosario, 52, of the Upper East Side, who owns a car and parks on the street. 'This is public parking. You can't be reserving spaces if they're not there,' Rosario added, noting he once pulled into a spot anyway when someone tried to guard it for a friend who was nowhere to be seen. 3 A wild street fight caught on video over a Queens parking space has reignited a longtime debate over whether it's ever justified to put your body on the line for a public spot. I-am-Mihnea/Reddit The comments come after the now-viral video captured a mother-daughter duo, Andreea Dumitru, 45, and Sabrina Starman, 21, savagely attacking driver Jada McPherson after she tried to pull into a Ridgewood street spot that the pair were allegedly 'guarding' with their bodies. The battle broke out at 18-28 Putnam Ave, where an unidentified man also joined in on the gang-up on McPherson, but apparently high-tailed it out of the area before police arrived, cops said. When McPherson couldn't find another spot on the block, she came back to tell the family they couldn't guard parking spots, she previously told The Post. That's when the man went 'ballistic' and the mother-daughter pair flung racist language at McPherson, who is black. But some Big Apple drivers and residents — accustomed to circling blocks in search of a coveted parking space — said everyone was a little at fault under the unwritten rules of city parking. 3 Andreea Dumitru, 45, and Sabrina Starman, 21, attacked and yelled slurs at Jada McPherson after she tried to pull into a Ridgewood street spot they were allegedly 'guarding' with their bodies. LP Media 'Honestly, if you have a friend that you know is literally coming around the corner in like a minute? Yeah, what's the problem with that? But standing there longer than five minutes… absolutely not,' said Freddie Bennett, 41, a Ridgewood resident who doesn't own a car. 'But that's just how New Yorkers are, territorial… I understand why, but it's not something I'd ever consider doing.' Mika Cook-Wraight, 25, agreed that the desperation is real, but it isn't worth putting your safety on the line. 3 Starman and Dumitru were later arrested and charged with first-degree assault and second-degree harassment for pelting Jada McPherson (pictured) over the spot, police said. Dorian Geiger/NY Post 'I personally wouldn't get into a fight over it … because of how people drive here, I would not put my body on the line in front of cars,' she said. 'I'd be scared to stand in the street to save a spot. Because of how people drive here, I wouldn't put my body on the line.' Cook-Wraight, who's originally from Boston, said saving spots with chairs or cones might work there, 'but that's just not sustainable here,' she quipped. Starman and Dumitru were arrested and charged with first-degree assault and second-degree harassment, police said. The mother-daughter duo has since apologized for the brawl after being hit with a slew of online death threats.

Mom And Daughter Who Attacked Black Woman Over A Parking Spot Regret Choosing Violence

Jada McPherson was brutally assaulted by her neighbors, Andreea Dumitru, 45, and her daughter, Sabrina Starman, 21, in Ridgewood, Queens over a parking spot on Monday (July 7). When footage of the attack surfaced, McPherson was seen being attacked by multiple people including the aforementioned mother and daughter and an unidentified man. 'They were trying to literally rip my hair out of my scalp,' said the 21-year-old Pace University student. The women were charged with first degree assault and second degree harassment. Dumitru and Starman appeared on StrangeMcKnights' YouTube channel on July 14 for a 30-minute 'tell-all interview.' Dumitru claims McPherson called her 'white trash' and that she's been receiving death threats since evidence of the brawl surfaced. Dumitru did express regret about the assault. 'I regret that it was very wrong of me to do. It wasn't right. I regret it,' but accused McPherson of 'choosing violence,' adding, 'She provoked the situation.' Starman also claimed that McPherson started the racial comments, but later apologized for her behavior. '…I wanna say that I apologize for approaching the way I did after being provoked. It's not the answer or solution to stop a situation, but people like me [Starman is a transgender woman] have fought so much in this country, on this world. I've dealt with so much trauma in the past for being who I am as a person,' she stated. Comments under the YouTube video sided with McPherson. 'It's crazy to me that the person who actually ripped locs out of a woman's head is trying to pretend to be victim,' said one user. Another responded, 'Wait a minute, they aggressed her by calling her a monkey and now they're in fear??? Ain't no fun when the rabbit has the gun.' Another comment read: 'I live less than ten blocks away from where this was. These people have been known throughout Ridgewood as a nuisance at best. They're sorry they got caught, and nothing else. Crocodile tears.' During the attack, McPherson was flung to the ground by her hair and Dumitru was heard yelling, 'You're a monkey, b***h.' McPherson was also called a 'slave.' She was treated for her injuries at the scene and is moving out of the neighborhood, despite over 100 people rallying in support of her, according to the New York Post. Dumitru and Starman are due in court on September 9 to fight the charges. More from Man Who Attacked Judge In Las Vegas Courtroom Sentenced To Serve Up To 65 Years In Prison J. ‘Fear for my life': Mum and daughter duo backtrack after wild parking spot brawl

A mum and daughter duo charged with ganging up on a student in a slur-laced New York parking spot brawl are being pelted with online death threats — and have now apologised for the caught-on-video melee. The alleged victim doesn't wanna hear it, she told The Post. 'I don't accept the apology only because I feel like the apologies are only because of how much outreach the video is getting and I don't think the apology is wholesome,' university student Jada McPherson, 21, said on Monday. 'I don't think it's from their hearts, like deep down. 'But I just hope they could see or see what they did wrong and kind of get a better understanding of how to operate or act in certain situations from this situation.' Viral video captured the July 7 scuffle in Queens, when mum Andreea Dumitru, 45, and her daughter, Sabrina Starman, 21, — along with an unidentified man — jumped McPherson after the student tried to park in a spot the friend was holding for them. Dumitru and Starman have been inundated with insults and death threats over the encounter since the wild video, which shows them slugging McPherson, pulling her hair and throwing her to the ground — with both sides hurling racial and ethnic epithets at each other, the footage shows. In one text message the family received since the video went viral, an anonymous user wrote, 'You ready to die? Because I'm ready to kill you and your peoples (sic). 'You will be seeing me shortly,' the text said. 'Mark my words, I am going to murder ALL OF YOU.' Dumitru and Starman, who were charged with assault and harassment, now fear for their lives. 'I have hundreds of calls death-threatening me, telling me how they're going to come,' Dumitru said in an interview. 'I never in my life has experienced such trauma. And not only that, I have my little one and I have appointments and I have surgeries coming up. I have a dog. My mum is older. 'I fear for my life,' she added. 'I've been threatened. I haven't been sleeping since I got out of jail. I haven't been able to rest. I have not been eating.' The parking spot scuffle erupted after the mystery neighbour agreed to hold the space by putting a garbage can there while Dumitru drove her younger son to McDonald's. When McPherson tried to park in the spot, all hell broke loose. Starman claimed McPherson started the name-calling, and suggested she started the fight. 'It was the way she approached us and provoked us for a whole 30 minutes straight,' she said. 'So, the 45-minute mark where we got arrested — because we were just only sticking up for ourselves.' Still the mother and daughter, who had their lawyer with them when they spoke to The Post, offered an apology for the incident that now has them in trouble with the law. McPherson, who is still upset about the three-on-one assault, said she feels the death threats are out of line and blows the entire incident out of proportion. 'I just feel like the death threats are unnecessary,' she said. Meanwhile, Dumitru said she's learned a valuable lesson from the whole mess. 'I'll never do that again,' she said. 'Ever. I learned my lesson. I will never do something like that again, and I will never condone something like that ever again. 'You want the parking? Take it. It's not worth this. This is not worth it.'
