What is Y2K all about?
Set on New Year's Eve in 1999, Y2K follows best friends Eli (Jaeden Martell) and Danny (Julian Dennison) as they crash a high school party in hopes of making unforgettable memories. However, when the clock strikes midnight, the feared Y2K bug becomes a reality, causing all technology to malfunction and turn against humanity. From killer microwaves to rogue Tamagotchis, the teens must navigate a world where everyday gadgets become deadly adversaries.

Directed by Kyle Mooney in his directorial debut, Y2K is written by Kyle Mooney and Evan Winter. Evan Winter, Jonah Hill, Matt Dines, Allison Goodwin, Christopher Storer, and Cooper Wehde have produced this film under the cinematography of Bill Pope and music of Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans.
Other than Jaeden and Rachel Zegler, Y2K also stars Julian Dennison, Daniel Zolghadri, Lachlan Watson, Fred Durst, Kyle Mooney, Eduardo Franco, Mason Gooding, The Kid Laroi, Lauren Balone, Alicia Silverstone, Tim Heidecker, Maureen Sebastian, Miles Robbins and Ellie Ricker among others.
Y2K is a treasure trove of late '90s culture, featuring a soundtrack filled with iconic tracks from the era. The film pays homage to the turn-of-the-century aesthetics, complete with VHS tapes, dial-up internet references, and fashion reminiscent of the time. Upon its release, Y2K received mixed reviews.
