Bama's Tyler Booker says his chain was designed by the same person who made Jalen Hurts'
Bama's Tyler Booker says his chain was designed by the same person who made Jalen Hurts' Alabama's offensive guard followed Jalen Hurts' lead and got his diamond necklace for the NFL draft from the Eagles' quarterbacks' jeweler. Jalen Hurts shook the culture up when the Eagles quarterback caused a debate online after appearing at a post-game press conference wearing a diamond Cuban-link chain with a blinding pendant. Following a 27-13 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Hurts asked the media if "that's what you guys wanted to see. " Social media was ablaze with discussions about athletes' money compared to rappers' money. Fast-forward to Round 1 of the NFL draft, and former Alabama offensive guard Tyler Booker also noticed Hurts' chain. He went to the same jeweler to get his predraft bling. In 2023, Booker surrendered just four pressures and one sack over 13 starts at left guard. An All-American offensive guard at Alabama, Booker and Landon Dickerson would give Philadelphia two young, athletic offensive guards for the future while solidifying the offensive line for years to come.

Lions propose playoff seeding change
March 19 - The high-powered Detroit Lions nearly had to hit the road to open the playoffs in January before winning their regular-season finale against the Minnesota Vikings. Had Detroit lost that game, Minnesota would have wrapped up the ultra-competitive NFC North and the Lions would've dropped to the conference's fifth seed as the team that featured the best record without a division title. That notion apparently didn't sit well with the Lions, who proposed that playoff seeding should be based on record -- regardless of division honors. That would also mean that winning a division title would not guarantee a home game in the wild-card round. The NFL revealed a list of potential rule changes on Wednesday, and owners are scheduled to meet on March 30-April 2 in West Palm Beach, Fla. Proposals require the approval of at least 24 of the 32 teams. Also Wednesday, the Green Bay Packers' formally requested to ban the "tush push" short-yardage play commonly used by the Philadelphia Eagles. "We're not very successful against it, I know that," Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said last month at the NFL Scouting Combine. "To be honest with you, I haven't put much thought into it. It's been around for a while, we've used it in different fashions with our tight end, so again, I think there will be a lot of discussions about it. I've got to look at some of the information as far as injury rates, things like that, to see. But we'll see." More than half of Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts' 55 career regular-season rushing touchdowns reached the end zone from the tight, rugby-like formation with running backs angled near Hurts to help shove him over the goal line at the snap. Last season, the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens ran variations of the same play. Below is a list of other proposals: --The Pittsburgh Steelers proposed that teams would be allowed to have one call with prospective unrestricted free agents from other teams and their agents during the negotiating window before the start of the league year. --The Lions also proposed eliminating the automatic first down that comes with an illegal contact or defensive holding penalty. --The Eagles proposed giving both teams a guaranteed possession in overtime during the regular season, aligning with the current playoff rules. --The Washington Commanders proposed allowing teams to secure scouting credentials for games in the final two weeks of the season for potential playoff opponents.

Philadelphia police officers reenact Eagles' tush push ahead of Super Bowl parade
Even the Philadelphia police are getting in on the Eagles' action. The Eagles celebrated their Super Bowl victory Friday. And just as the Philly Special from 2018 lives forever in fans' hearts, the tush push will always have a place in Eagles lore. Made famous for being pretty much unstoppable, the Birds' tush push has become a staple. And while it's often imitated, it's never duplicated, at least not nearly to the Eagles' success rate. Philadelphia police officers also imitated the play before Friday's parade. A video of the police officer tush push was reposted by the NFL and Philadelphia Police Department. Because of a top-notch offensive line and Jalen Hurts' ability to squat over 600 pounds, the play has been successful over 90% of the time over the last three years for Philly. The play has become controversial because it seems that it cannot be stopped. However, it's clear that nobody is as good at it as the Eagles are. During the NFC title game, the Washington Commanders' Frankie Luvu jumped offside numerous times trying to jump the snap for the push, and referees almost awarded the Eagles a touchdown in response. The Eagles busted out the play for their first of many scores in a 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Friday's parade was marred by the shooting of two women who sustained leg injuries but reportedly remained in stable condition.
