Tennessee football players all time to wear jersey No. 6
The University of Tennessee first fielded a football team in 1891. The Vols claim six national championships in 1938, 1940, 1950, 1951, 1967 and 1998.
Tennessee has won 16 conference titles in program history (13 SEC, 2 SoCon, 1 SIAA).
Tennessee's 2025 season will kick off Aug. 30 against Syracuse. The nonconference matchup will take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
